I Tried Acrylic Pour Art For The First Time

Hello friends! Apologies for the long absence, but we are trying to get things back on track. No, this video didn’t take us 3 months to make - we filmed a bunch of videos in July and this is the first of them to be released! It’s not a magnum opus, just supposed to be fun and lighthearted. Now, onto the video! A few weeks ago, somewhere deep in a visual ASMR KZbin rabbit hole, I discovered the online acrylic pour art community - where people essentially make interesting color combos of paint in a cup, then pour that cup onto a canvas or object - and then manipulate that object to create truly mesmerizing, rainbow, psychedelic pieces of art. And I was instantly hooked - just something about the way the paints flow from the cup and then slide around the canvas really got me, ya know? So I decided to pick an acrylic pour art video and try to follow it myself, to see if I could do it too. So I chose a "pouring guru", Tiktus color art, and got to work.

Hey Safiya. I read your blog post and just wanted to offer support and understanding. KZbin creates this environment that causes so much stress for creators, the focus on a schedule and analytics and punishing us for not constantly maintaining the same numbers and attention. I know what it's like to edit and immediately be thinking about all the negative things people are going to say about how you look. It gets so wearing and sucks out the enjoyment of creating. Also dumb comments and judgements on your relationship are never helpful and I know for me, makes me second guess everything while editing. Like if I interrupt my husband or it's a jump cut that makes it look like that... I know there will be comments... You have done amazing with what you create online and so many people would watch you literally do anything, because they care and appreciate you as a person. I'm sorry that the whole KZbin machine and culture has made you not feel great. The idea of doing seasons and taking a break might be a good idea. Anyway just wanted to comment with my support of whatever you end up doing.

@@BothHands1 My younger brother watches a lot of gamers that scream like crazy or have some insanely loud edits for no reason and every time I'm just like "WHY DO YOU ENJOY THAT?!" The problem with the "loud = funny" is it is funny for kids.. it easily can get their attention and can cause an easy laugh.. However as you get older it becomes more and more annoying since you deal with people screaming so much in life as it is.. lol What I love most about Saf is she's well researched typically, soft-spoken, and clear. She doesn't just jump up one day and do a video.. she researches it and learns about it then does the video and puts all of that in it.

Some of the things that I really enjoy about all of Saf's videos are the detailed research, the almost theatrical and yet precise narration, and the fun commentary made during the process. After reading Saf’s blog post, I realized why and how much I missed this content lol. What’s really fun about this channel honestly is just watching Saf and Tyler acquire a new skill or new knowledge of something that they were curious about. Like the full jumping in and immersing themselves in the learning process over and over for each video is probably the most interesting for me. Even if the topic isn’t necessarily something I’m into or familiar with, I know that they’re into it and at this point have done an enormous amount of work in research, spend good chunks of money at the viewer’s expense, and then film and edit it in ways that have been more and more engaging with each video. I’m happy you both are back and hopefully will find yourselves in better places mentally (and physically with the potential move) soon!

Tiktus is my favorite artist for pour art, he uses the most vibrant colors, and combines them so nicely, they dont muddle. I am a newbie to pouring and its not as easy as it looks. You have the expensive paints so you should do well, and not get brown. he first one was good, you didnt mess up, just did a different technique. I would say you are a natural, you are good at this.

I've never watched Jenna but what I like most about Saf is she doesn't just randomly make these videos.. it seems random for us, but she'll usually research these things for like a week or longer before doing it or attempting it. So in the video she's very well thought out and researched instead of just wild manic energy of her jumping up one day like "I'M DOING A VIDEO ON PAINTS", which I feel most youtubers would do.

I was drawn in to the same rabbit hole about 18 months ago. About $4,000 later I’m still loving it and continue learning. Each artist has their own take on a technique. Colour choices are crucial, opacities (opaque vs. transparent paint), metallics etc. Some artists are extraordinary. The technique you did is best done, in my opinion, by Sarah Mack. She brings her pours to a new level.❤🇨🇦

idk if you will read this Saf, but I thoroughly enjoy that you talk so calmly. It destresses me a lot and I can actually watch your videos at any time without needing to mentally prepare myself or even waiting a whole week until I can handle watching it. And while you yourself speak calmly, your content in and of itself is quirky, funny, and interesting, and if there's no new video, I have no issues with watching your candle-melting video another 350 times. I get that new content is exciting but I think your videos have a big rewatch-value (at least to me) because everything just fits together so well - your personality, the presentation, and the content itself. For the body-shaming - it's shitty that people in this day and age still feel the need to comment stuff like that. It's neither helpful, nor fair, nor anybody's business in the first place. As long as you are happy, that's all that matters in that regard. And the comments on Tyler getting talked over - you both are grown adults and we only see a fraction of your life online. If there's an issue, I'm sure you can talk that out with each other and don't need strangers on the internet to have that conversation in your name. You do you. I personally know how that feeling of separation from family feels and am glad you are getting your support system back. 4: About your issue with your schedule, have you hired anyone to help you with seeing where you could improve your timing? Like when you hired the people to help you organize your makeup collection and storage, I bet you could make an entire youtube video around that process.

I’ve just read the blog post, and I cried a bit. Because I love your voice! I am very picky in that department when I decide to follow a youtuber. And even when I don’t like the person’s voice, I never write to them about it, because it is just rude. So all those people saying “negative things about you” are really showing THEIR negative personality traits. I love to see that you prepared a whole script to present your videos. It shows the amount of hard work and care you have for us. Your videos are not made like “press rec button and start talking anything I feel like it”. We already have too much of those on this platform. Your schedule is proportional to the amount of quality content you produce. Anyone with a brain would see that. So please, don’t push yourself! The season schedule sounds perfect!

For someone with the name immaturegirl this was a pretty mature (and very correct) post :) . It made me sad to hear what she was going through because I know as a graduate student I experience very similar things as does everyone else in my program, but we have each other to remind us that this is normal. I imagine being a youtuber must feel very lonely because you don't work a longside that many other youtubers and you don't see the ways in which they are falling behind. When they do take a break, it's public and they must feel judged. I hope Saf has people around to tell her how well she is doing.
