Love the channel and the bloopers at the end crack me up. Thanks for the laughs as well as the insight to resin crafting. Appreciate your mistakes, keeping it real is important. Much success to you!

A rubber mat would be a good idea under neath the work pieces, so any spill over can be left to dry on the rubber mat then easily peeled away rather than being permanently stuck to the table

Thanks! I used a silicone mat at the moment, it just looks the same colour as the table.

you can cover paper in clear packing tape before you sink in the resin.

This is so cool, I have been really itching to mess around with resin art. If you could do a beginners guide, I would absolutely love that. Like, what did you buy on amazon, are the cheap products worth it or should I go big? Did you need a gas mask or something? Did you use goggles? I have seen a few people comment that and I am confused. So, just like a really really dumbed down version of a beginners guide lol. Please! Thank you, your work is so cute!

I felt the exact same when wanting to start using resin, it can be draining but research is key, watching and learning from others who have just started to people that have been doing it for years, you’ll adapt and pick up things that’ll work for you & what you want to do. Sometimes you have to dive right in aha

you need to seal the cards with mod podge or a varnish and let it dry well before you cast them in the resin, then the resin won't soak into the paper

Would coating the cards in clear nail polish before you cast them in resin help with the issue of the cards absorbing the resin

Hi... I know you made this 2 yrs ago. I'm barely getting into resin. But I wanted to tell you... laminate the cards before placing in the resin. That will resolve that issue. And that motto... I think you really should market it... it's oh so true! Oh last tip. I got a mini heating table that also is a level .

You are hilarious and fun to watch! Please keep the videos coming! What kind of sticky paper are you using under the pendants?
@97projects98
@97projects98 3 жыл бұрын
I used packing tape but I wouldn't really recommend using it sticky side up since you don't get the shine. If you have a glue gun you could use the shiny side or some accrylic and hot glue around the outside of the pendant.

Hi Amy, I'm thinking of doing a resin bust of a face, I've already made the face out of clay and had it hardened in a kiln, any advice on what to look out for? I plan to make the mold out of sand and pure the resin in. Unfortunately, you don't have an email listed? I was thinking of showing you a photo of the face before starting, to give you an idea of what I'm attempting to do, anyway, by for now, Alex 😊

I have used the alcohol oil’s to add color to my resin and when I take them out of the mold the next day or so the oil’s are still wet. What am I doing wrong? Am I not waiting long enough and/or is maybe my area too cold?

Where do you find your molds? Especially the Deathly Hallows/Harry Potter stuff? or is this a mold you made yourself? I'd also like to see how you make a mold, without a 3D printer 🙂 Thank you for all your help!!

You could try to mix more resin into it in the hopes it will pull it out once it’s cured.

@Amy you weigh your resin but measure the moulds in ml - could you not just put mould on scales and weigh in the water and then pour out? thx
@97projects98
@97projects98 3 жыл бұрын
You definitely can! That would be much easier as long as the mould can fit on the scales.

That's exactly what I do, my resin is 2:1 ratio, so if the mould with water weighs 90 grams, I know I need 60 grams of resin and 30 grams of hardener, no waste that way!
