Thank you SO much for doing the asmr community right 👏👏👏 From the videos i've seen/ my experiences, so many of these "i tried" videos end up mocking & providing misinformation of asmr, without realizing there are real people with valid reasons to enjoy watching or creating asmr. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a lot of the "i tried asmr" videos myself. And I understand asmr may seem silly at first glance, and nothing is safe from humour, but the scales were seriously out of balance. I truly hope more videos attempt to spread asmr positive messages, and, with a bit more empathy & knowledge, lightheartedly poke some fun at it. This was amazing 🙌💙

I personally hate talking asmr, where they *whisper into your ear and it sounds really creepy* but i need to fall asleep so i was like, Wait, what about that vid Safiya did? KZbin searched "saf tries asmr" and came here. It's so nice to hear a whisper from a voice that's comfortable to you xD Sounds really good, put me to sleep instantly! :D

It’s been a year since this video was posted, but I keep coming back to it. I can never make it through this entire video. Not because it’s annoying, but because Safs normal voice is so soothing to me that this just calms me into sleep. I have never made it passed the clear plastic pants before falling asleep.

The difference between "sensual" and "sexual" is not well understood by most people, which is, I think, why the misconception that ASMR is an innately sexual experience is so common. Sexual experiences can definitely be very sensual, but sensual does not necessarily equal sexual. Take therapeutic massage-- sensual, i.e. stimulating the senses, but not sexual. Think of it like "all cats are mammals but not all mammals are cats".
