Hello! We are back (for at least this one video)! Here is our experience at a capsule hotel in Tokyo, Japan last May! We slept in small pods and ate giant gyoza, it was a ~good time~.
A big thank you to the Bay Hotel in Ginza and to Amanda for helping us produce the video!
You can check out the Bay Hotel here: www.bay-hotel.jp/ginza/eng/

Ohh we have 2 box hotels near by and one got a lawsuit because the lack of windows and fresh air is against regulations and counts as a health risk. As is, they were only allowed to exist if they limit the stay duration to 3 consecutive days. That's why they aren't as prevalent in some countries

I'm not claustrophobic and the efficient end entry type looked like a really safe space if it locked from the inside. The sideways entry would feel exposed. Moving the locker space inside the pods would make things easier at the same or less total volume per guest.

There are Mom and Pop motels all over the U.S. where you can get a big room, bathtub, cable tv, for $40-$45.00 a night ALL DAY LONG. These pod motels would spread diseases, they'd have to demand everybody has clean clothes, shoes and a good air filtration system.

I don't know: I have the same "tucked in, cozy" vibe from Safiya's pod. With the curtain up, people can't really see anything exept your feet. Tyler's shelf has a strange feeling of the classic bunk in any submarine movie: I would like wait for the klakson to blare out "combat station, not a exercise, all hands on deck". Or the train couches in "Someone Like It Hot" with Jack Lemmon in drag wandering around.

Sleeping in the bottom bed feels so cozy, not to mention it's super easy to block more sunlight out for those extra lazy mornings. I filled mine with pretty lights, sparkly fabrics, and teddy's, eventually when the mood hits I'll hang some fuzzy fabric in there. I highly recommend everyone build themselves a little pod space
