The classic Com Tam has pork ribs, shredded pork ears + shredded pork, pickled carrots and white radish, green onions with fried pork lard and always has egg + meat loaf ........the omelet egg is a new addition .....fish sauce is not a dipping sauce, it's meant to pour over the rice . ....Hope you enjoy your time in Saigon

Ben Thanh Market is way to crazy. 300k, no no. then 100. Shoe-glueing, broken rice. This is so unique in Southeast Asia. The Vietnamese are very resourceful. They make use of everything.

That is an interesting Com Tam dish. It usually goes with charcoal grilled pork chop, but here they have pork belly (I think?). If you're still in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh, you can check out other places where they have a more common styled dish. District 1 is more tourist oriented, so everything seems to be more pricey than usual. I grew up in District 3 and it's pretty comparable to District 1. I haven't been back to Vietnam for a couple years so it can be pretty different now. If you know Max Mcfarlin and his channel, he knows some local spots with great food. I've been watching his videos for the past few days so I know where to go eat when I visit Vietnam this November lol. I hope you will have a good time there during your visit!

You should look up for the price or ask them the price first before buying them. For instance, the coconut should not be 50k, it should only be around 10-20k, you should bargain like what you have done in the market, they often ask travellers like you to pay for a higher price. I watched some of your videos, some of the price you paid are often 1.5 to 3 times higher than the normal price as I remember, be careful more 😅.

For Com Tam, if you wake up after 8am, you probably don't have good Com Tam :) Most good places already close down by 9am.

the reason I like com tam better is because the rice is broken, so it doesn't need as much water to get cooked and it's drier than the normal rice.

Kim Spa - It’s shampoo not sampoo.. Also a tip if you want to eat food and worry about the language….if the place have food in a see through cart..just point to the stuff that you want to eat..then they’ll make it… You can stand next to them; and point to it like This this and this..easy enough..

Food items, prices are normally known, they shouldn't tell you anything else. 300K for something that's probably 50K? walk away. don't waste time.
