The fruit you were pointing at at 8:08 is orange, yes they are orange despite being green. But the juice you were drinking I'm pretty sure it's passion fruit juice.

The crab soup is made from grinding down rice paddy crabs, shell and all to make crab paste (the grey floating stuff on top of the soup). The crab paste then dropped into boiling water along with the veggies to the soup you guys enjoyed!

Besides the VN dishes, I have always enjoyed their fruit smoothie and juices as I find it's all real fruits, really good value too and so refreshing. If you can, try to find their yogurt sold in small glass jars, the Vietnamese yogurt put Greek yogurt to shame and you can chuck the Yoplait crap after you have their yogurt. Heck, even their Vinamilk yogurt tastes awesome, and again, very refreshing. For snacks, ask the young Vietnamese women for sweet snacks like "che".

if you are still in Da Nang, try local favorits such Mi Quang, Thit Heo Cuon Banh Trang, Cao Lau. Ask taxi driver for locations. And don't forget going to Hoi An for Anthony Bourdain Banh Mi`. Enjoy your trip !

You're so low key and she's so full of energy, sweet couple. We didn't get a chance to go to Danang this July but loved Ha Noi, Ha Long and Nha Trang. We went to couple of their "garden restaurants" where it's quasi outdoor, with lots of trees and old VN architectural decor like brick, wooden furniture, thatched roof. Their food is traditional and rural VN food and they were awesome. Look forward to seeing more of your videos from VN.

@@TheTravelingChefs You might want to try asking the locals in Vietnamese for “Bánh Tráng Nướng” (Grilled Vietnamese Rice Paper with Egg, Pork, and Condiments). Tbh, I’m Vietnamese but I don’t live in VN and have never tried that particular street food. I think it actually originates from Dalat. I also heard Hue & Danang are cheaper compared to Saigon & Hanoi. I started watching your videos b/c of your love for Vietnamese food and Cary’s quirkiness. I’m glad you’ll stay in VN for a long time. :)

They use kilogram and gram in Vietnam, so just say 5 grams, 10 grams when buying things . The pronunciation is the same as English. Don't say pound in Vietnam, they won't know what it is.... Crab soup is not a correct term. in Vietnam there are 2 types of liquid dish súp (soup) and canh....súp is very similar physical description of western type of dish.......Canh however is a light vegetable dish that every Vietnamese meal must have to washdown the food ...every now and then Canh will have a very delicate amount of shrimp, crab, ground pork , ratio 2-3%.....but vegetable is still 10% of the base of Canh ..similar to consommé
