quick tips as someone who plays between speeds 10.90 and 11.55! turn your mvs off whenever you play on a speed above 10.00 and turn on fast/late/flick indicators so you can tell when you should increase/decrease your speed for example with increasing/decreasing speed whether it be in general or per song, i prefer to play songs such as phony on 10.9 but cant play the intense voice of hatsune miku below 11.50 ^^; in terms of getting used to a higher speed, id recommend starting at 10.00 and seeing where that takes you! anything above that as a starting point can be detrimental to your accuracy or lock you into high speeds only [me]

it’s not the speed affecting someone, it’s the person adaptability. take me for example, im really different from most pjsk players. I play on speed 9 and even look at the perfect/great area whereas most people wld use 10-11 and look in the middle. but, im more comfortable with my speed and where i look. i can confirm it’s not about my speed because i am quite(?) good. (recent achievement is fc don’t fight the music expert) to summarise, it’s not about the speed, it’s about whether the person is comfortable with it or not. :3

At faster speeds, it's hard to process the notes because they fly at you. At low speeds, it can be hard to tell what's what due to how compact everything is. So it truly isn't about speed, but more what you're used to, and the best speed for you to know what's going on

I'd definitely recommend turning on the show LATE/EARLY/WRONG WAY taps setting on, itll show you how many of your great taps and below are late and which ones are early, as well as whenever you hit a flick the wrong way. These will help you decide if you need to raise or lower your speed. Typically once your early great taps get to be significantly more than late taps it's time to up your speed. If you have too many late taps, try adjusting the note timing. I currently play on 11.3 with a note offset of 1.6

this isn't super helpful to u maybe, but i base my speed off of what difficulty and what song i'm playing (im at abt song lvl 25/26, i can't play higher than that rn) if i'm playing on hard diff, i'll go 11.6/11.7 (No MVs and late indicators on) if i'm playing expert diff, i'll go down to 11.4/11.5 (No MVs cuz i need to focus on the upcoming notes) master diff i might even slow down to 11.3 so its rlly a range for me :D for songs that are basically in the middle of those two (kusare-gedou, whats up pop, yaminabe, shoushitsu, machinegun poem doll, + few others), i'll go somewhere between 11.5/11.6 depending on how confident i am with the song (since their hards are some of the hardest hard diffs in game and i can't even begin trying them on expert yet)

hey, although it hurts me seeing the slow speed, I was like that at the start too (I played on speed 6.0, it's a canon event-) I slowly went up, from 6.0 to 8.0, then switched to 9.0, then 9.6, then 10.0, 10.3, 10.5 and now 10.7. you know what helps?? (at least for me) when my speed was slow and I saw people playing pjsk, I always saw that their speed was faster than mine, and I slowly got used to their speeds, like, when I got inside the game and saw that my speed was slower than the one I saw in the video, it made me annoyed so I changed the speed and got used to it :)

PLEASE USE FOCUS AND GUIDED ACCESS! focus (do not disturb) turns off banner notifications and they have to be manually accessed on the lock screen. Guided Access is a feature that makes it impossible to exit out of an app (turn it on in settings then triple click the power button to enable/ disable it on command) it doesn’t seem very useful but it will be when moving up into 27-30 level songs
