I would have never imagined that things would come to the end the way they did. But every end is a new beginning… this is my story - Tah Divertliving.
My name is Tah. I’m from Thailand - most people recognize me as half of Divert Living. 3 short years ago I made a decision that would change the way I live my life in every way - After getting my business degree from Ajou University in South Korea, I returned to Thailand to work for an American finance firm - that was the dream that I have strived for since I was in high school. But for some reason, once it was achieved, it left me feeling unfulfilled and yearning for more. 9 months later, I made the bold decision to quit my job with approximately 4,000 US dollars in my bank account, and I left Thailand to travel…. with my then-boyfriend: Jimmy.
I purchased a one-way ticket to Bali, Indonesia, in late August 2017, navigating through different countries nonstop for over 10 months, it was then that I realized that I never want to stray from this lifestyle - And that is when this story begins.

It's true that people think traveling with your significant other is like a vacation. When my fiancé and I travelled for two years together it seemed like a full time job in itself! Planning trips, booking rides and flights, figuring out where you will sleep from night to night, compromising on activities so both people have fun, tracking money, deciding on food. I also just ended a chapter of my life, I sold my last Bubble Tea shop and am moving international. When were at the end of that 'chapter' in our lives, it is really difficult. For a while. Musicians sometimes say, “if you want to really find out how well you get along with someone, go on tour with them.” Even normal travel as tourists can bring out our weak points as we deal differently with stress and other challenges. And then at the end of the day, when normal tourists go to the hotel and relax, you have to select your scenes, edit, narrate… It’s not impossible but couples really do need to see eye to eye and be flexible. And also be willing to admit what is no longer working. Life is always a series of doors opening and closing, serial realities, inside and outside us. Good on you for being able to recognize it and move ahead in the best way!

This is the first time I have heard of you or Divert Living. Your editing skills are impressive...the pauses are beautiful. As someone who travels solo, I can tell you this. The rewards are much greater. You have no one to rely on, no one to help you. When things go wrong, as they do, and you find the solution; there is immense satisfaction. I will admit that we were saddened to hear about the split and did not know how to find you. We are now subscribers to your channel. You bring up many good points about being a couple plus traveling and working fulltime together. In the end it is all about personal happiness and sometimes hard and hurtful decisions in life need to happen. We look forward to watching your new videos.
