I realize that this cereal (that is amarican sourced btw) costs 39$ per serving out of a box of 4, despite one family sized 18oz box of Kellogs rice crispy treat cereal = 4$>9$ dollar's, personally i can't see myself buying this with the cost of everything going up. Like it is literally said/implied that the guiding wind is the spirit of Jin's father, and that the golden bird(which pops up whenever Jin is near points of interest like side quests, items and hotsprings) is Jin's mother. Ghost of Tsushima nailed a premise that feels like it should’ve been tailor-made for Assassin’s Creed. Picture this: an Assassin’s Creed game set in Japan where an honorable samurai warrior crosses paths with the Assassin Brotherhood via the female assassin. Over time, he’s forced to adopt their methods-abandoning his traditional sense of honor, learning to kill from the shadows, and avoiding direct combat. It’d be amazing to watch his transformation into a hybrid of samurai and assassin, blending both worlds to outwit his enemies at any cost. Honestly, I doubt AC shadows will come close to delivering a story as compelling as that.
@canaandurham715812 күн бұрын
You could even keep the same basic conflict. Let Kotal Khan (and maybe even the Khans themselves) be a Templar as the antagonist. Or even better, let Shimura be the Templar. His obsession with honor and how samurai should could also extend to how his lands and Japan should be. Imagine that final duel between Jin and Shimura. Not only ideologically opposed as a honorable samurai and the Ghost, but also as a Templar and an Assassin, all while both knowing neither wants this but that it has to happen. Could’ve been peak.
@BrahmaDBA12 күн бұрын
This is why it is so poetic when Sucker Punch beat them to it. A studio most well known with making Infamous; a highly stylized action adventure game that is as far and detached from the "Assassins" genre. Yet because they have the heart was able to make an Assassin's Creed game that is truly Assassin's Creed.
@natchu9611 күн бұрын
I'd want to say that Ghost of Tsushima's narrative is, in execution, more written around the dichotomy between righteous "honor" and necessary evil, while Assassin's Creed had traditionally been more about whether freedom or control is truly better for society. But Modern AC barely gives a rat's ass about the franchise's own themes anyway so I suppose it's fine to keep the bar low.
@zashimi134510 күн бұрын
Works as an AC game. Kotal could be a Templar looking for a piece of Eden that Shimura is hiding. Yuna is an Assassin and does what she does already in the game but gradually revealing the whole Templar/Assassins conflict to Jin while she shows him a the techniques you get.

One thing that I love about this game is that it truly feels like each playthrough fully encompases Jin as a whole. He is a amazing swordfighter, a stealth assassin, a skilled archer and a resourceful swiss army knife. Over my entire first playthrough of this game (That I had finished today, which was 2 hour sessions over around 3 or so weeks) I have had 4 seperate moment where I have thought "Man {insert type of gameplay here} is so fun" and yet I have almost never had to fully switch gear to keep enjoying it. Even as a primarily Melee combat/stealth player, I found myself fully utilising Archery and Ghost weapons to clear enemies and finish objectives in a fun way. Combine that with, even in combat, instantaneous capability to switch gear and armor at any moment to fit any need feels so oddly freeing. Obviously this is Jin's story, the ghost of Tsushima and not some Rpg custom character where you can choose to be a melee build but it truly did feel like it both set in stone what Jin was and how he plays, while also giving you the full freedom to fight however you wish at any given moment.

Let's just keep it a buck here... Ubisoft knows they fumbled BIG TIME by ignoring fan requests for probably close to a decade and not being the first to create a game where you play as a samurai and/or ninja-assassin. Then the fact that SP made such a masterpiece only made it worse cuz now, Ghost of Tsushima is the benchmark that Shadows will inevitably be forced to measure up against! Then to make matters EVEN WORSE, they ham-fistedly force you to play as a foreigner who was neither a samurai in real life nor an assassin in an Assassin's Creed game, instead of locking in with a female MC only, which Ghost of Yotei will probably school them again by doing later this year. Right now, Ubisoft is the laughing stock of many gamers for how dumb and out of touch they are! 😂😂

But yes, it's frustrating that it never got a sequel. it had a very shaky development to begin with and how it turned out, you can only imagine how improved it would be, if that hadn't be the case, when it could have been more fleshed out. Therefore, in games way more than in other media, like movies or books, the second game (if it's the same team, looking at you DMC2) is often the one, where they have the formula, know what works and doesn't, have feedback from the customers, a lot of experience with the game and as a team, a lot of the tech available and most of the things that take time (mechanics, artystyle, direction, menus, structure, AI, rigs and animations ect.) already at their hand.
