Could you try doing the straw curls method? I'm curious what it would do to your hair. My friend with 3a hair did it and it tightened her curls even more.
@emlloo
@emlloo 5 жыл бұрын
What is that?
@saphani
@saphani 5 жыл бұрын
@@emlloo it's when you dampen your hair slightly and put straws in it (I'm not explaining this well but you could search it up on KZbin/Google), it gives you very tight curls. This could be used in straight hair to get curly hair without heat. But I use this method to help my transitioning hair (years of heat damage has ruined my curl pattern) get back to where it is. It can't make your hair magically curly but it gives very good results and can last me 1-2 weeks. You don't have to put product in but I put curling cream and gel to get very defined results. I leave it in overnight with a silk bonnet and it's not that uncomfortable to sleep in. Many videos cover this so if your interested and want a better explanation, you could look at those. At minimum you need straws, water, and small rubber bands to hold the straws. It takes me anywhere from 20 minutes-1 hour to do it on my thick, medium length hair. Takes a bit to fully master it, but I love the results, I do it every week or two(I can get away with not washing my hair for that long because I have a dry scalp). I fully recommend it to people with straight, Wavy, curly hair (not sure about kinky or tight curly folks but it could maybe loosen your curl pattern, i would look for people with that hair type doing it to see that type of results). Really sorry for this very long extra reply but I'm trying to explain it to the best of my ability
@saphani

@Katherinne Montrose you could use pencils as an alternative. I use straws because my family bought a huge pack a while ago for a party and we still have a lot left, so im trying to get use out of them

When I was first starting CGM last year, I went to Dollar Tree for some supplies (like a microfiber towel and wide tooth comb) and I came across the Salon Selectives deep conditioner in the pink container, and when I read the label and saw it was CG approved I was so excited! It actually worked really well for me. I've since upgraded to Cantu (I still like a good value). Never be afraid to try something just because it's cheap.

@@el-hr5kh it definitely is, if you were to search for KZbin videos, most (if not all) love this product. It moisturizes and defines curls, and it lasts very long. I have protein sensitive hair and I swear by VO5's Blackberry Sage Tea Therapy Revitalizing Conditioner. It's the only conditioner that's worked for me for years without fail. The fact that they're like $1 each is just a bonus. I use a lot of it per wash and use a Denman brush to detangle. Usually I'll buy out all of them from any 99 cent store that stocks them!

I used vo5 and suave products for years until I was like 14 and my hair was always so dry and tangled. To be fair I did a lot of other things wrong with my hair but I could never go back to only using these products, I would have to mix in a good scalp treatment and hair mask quite often too. The scents are pretty lit though. I could get kiwi, waterfall, strawberry, I have no idea why other brands stick to boring scents.

I use a tooooon of conditioner to detangle my long, thicc ass hair so I use V05 for that, then rinse it out and go in with my regular conditioner and leave that in for a few minutes. Makes the biggest difference and I don’t feel guilty using it bc it’s only $1!

Lmao I’ve been using Vo5 hair products for years & ive got lots long thick hair and those are always my go to bc if I try to use others it becomes pricey from how much product I be using every shower so call me cheap but it’s worked for me for years

V05 conditioners are fab cowashes. They even have a mild lather. It's a great lightweight conditioner. You can use a lot of it without it weighing your hair down (from my personal experience).

Shampoo and conditioners are made as bondmates meaning that using a shampoo and a conditioner from two different brands are goin to the full potential if you use a suave shampoo with a sauve conditioner or a bedhead conditioner and a Aussie shampoo.
