I Tried Harlem Force 9m In Cape Town 🔥 | Is The GameChanger Really That Good? 🚀

🔥🔥🔥 Harlem Force 9m, AKA the Game Changer put to the TEST in Cape Town.

🚀🚀🚀 Overall Impression, it's a fantastic kite.
This is certainly NOT a beginner's kite.
You need to be in total control of the power and know how to handle excess power especially in gusty conditions. Even with 22 knots the 9m had considerable power!
Also it's unprecedentedly fast compared to anything else I have ever tried in a 9m size.
Steering was incredible
It's one of the top features of this kite. Steering the kite to any position was super smooth even when the lines didn't have full tension. I felt so confident to try new things as the kite would climb super fast and catch you!
Hang time was lovely
You could definitely sense that this is 5 strut kite but only on the hang time aspect.
It's certainly not an XR or XR PRO although the hang time is really impressive. You need to know how to steer this kite to get extra lift especially when landing from a kiteloop. It's incredibly fast that's why all your moves can be way more relaxed and gentle.
On the speed aspect it felt faster than my 8m XR8!
Kite loops felt easy and safe - fantastic!
I would have to try hard to loop the kite low and even then the climbing was smooth and safe. Very quickly I gained full confidence with it.
Price tag - is it worth it?
Aside of the price of €2150 for a 9m and €650 for the bar which are certainly on the pricey side this kite is different from anything else I have tried.
Different in a very positive way.
If it proves to have a good reselling value is certainly something to try for intermediate / advanced riders!

Cool review with up and downsides. Nice variation of tricks, nice to have a oppinion of somone of your level. Personally I think I would not like less bar pressure then the Orbit, its already super low. Thanks!

Thank you! Orbit pressure is more than Harlem but still way less than XR PRO. The big difference is that when you have pressure on the Force it comes with loads of power which is awesome! With orbit there’s more pressure but not the same power. Again it a matter of taste and preference not about what is better :)

Thank you for your kind comments :) I actually did fly the 9m Orbit Pro in the Netherlands before flying to Cape Town and my best buddy owns the Orbit 2023 9m so I have experience with both. Orbit and Orbit Pro are significantly slower than the Force. You also feel more bar pressure on your hands without the actual power. The hang time with Orbit and Orbit Pro was certainly less than Harlem Force. My friend who has the Orbit took the Force for 20 minutes to ride on of the days I was shooting and he was blown away.. He came back with a smile and said.. this loops like my Orbit 7m!!! I enjoyed the Orbit, although it's certainly more of a beginner friendly kited when the Force is clearly for more intermediate to advanced riders.

Do you mean the red safety line that's wrapped around the pu cords? This is not normal and can be solved by pulling the QR trough the red line.

I bite the GoPro directly! It’s easier to fit in my wetsuit front compartment! With the mount it’s impossible to fit it in my wetsuit. I have also seen a mount for the harness where you can park your GoPro when not shooting.

Super good review...i think the valve is a really downside but would be easy to fix with an soft neopren like a "cap" for the valve which other brands does. Or of course but a extra layer of dacron or better 2 layers ;). Of course for a kite in this price range it shouldn´t be like that...overall super nice kite a looks like get very close to the orbit or cabrinha fx2 what i see.

Hey hey! I used the 52cm bar. It is certainly a bit bulkier than what I am used to (Core Sensor) although it honestly flew in perfect harmony with the Force. I actually really enjoyed it ;)

How do you repair the leading edge seeing as its welded?

I met with Hans from Harlem kitesurf shop to ask about this and basically under the leading edge you have a stitch line across the LE. It’s slightly more work but you don’t touch the pro welding.. you don’t need to in order to access the leading edge ;) I can upload the explanation from Hans (kite repair expert) in a private link and share with you if interested.
