Thanks, this happened to me once and i am a beginner. I walked lines out again, but now that i know this i do not have to do that anymore !! Thanks so much!

you don't have a proper setup method then. Personally, I lay my lines downwind, so from my kite, I start unrolling my bar heading downwind. once it's fully unrolled, lay the bar in the correct way relatively to the kite, and walk your lines with all lines in your left hand feeding them to your right hand, the layout on the right hand is the key: right hand is palm up and between each finger you have one line, just like that : THUMB - right back line - INDEX - right front line - MIDDLE FINGER - left front line - RING FINGER - left back line - PINKY (remember, left lines are on the right and vice versa when setting up downwind) I also like to walk the lines with the two front lines between my legs and the back lines on the outside. Walk up the lines all the way to the kite, some hand shaking help. when you reach the kite you should be also reaching the end of the lines (if you unrolled the bar as I described) before connecting the back lines check they are free by raising and tensioning it slightly. then connect the front lines. I've been setting up my kite without any mistake for 11 years now, and faster than most. Hope my trick will help you.

Have had this happen to me while out on the water a lot of times, very frustrating. Obviously both the back lines are twisted then so now I know I need to tackle it 1 by 1. Thanks

Wow great tutorial Mike, it seems so much harder to fix back lines inside the front ones with a core bar compared to my north with a low V 😜❤

Hey guys, any possibility to fix it when one steering line goes through the V? So through the Center lines? Thanks!
@lego72011 ай бұрын
This video isn’t right. On low v, no problem doing bar magic. High v, easier to rerun 2 outside lines than screwing around having someone hold your kite forever for you.
@AdMAN20089 ай бұрын
i did that many times, lost my kite doing it in the water once, obviously no one holding kite so lost it! Was holding chicken loop and it was ripped out my hand, swam my ass off and caught the bar thank god. Lesson dont try in water with loads of power. Rather go in and if you have a friend yah if not just run the lines again. Same session staight after i sorted that mess out my kite bud broke his fib doing a double backroll 😩😩 I got him to hospital but it was a super shit session with amazing wind! One of those after work rushed missions.

The kites were specifically designed for that bar... Why do you prefer a low V tho
@gethighwithmike11 ай бұрын
Agreed. Easier with low V
@stokakrishna11 ай бұрын
@@jansmejkal8088 exactly for the reasons I just mentioned. Also relaunch In very light wind is much easier with low V. And lastly lines on high Y can get easily tangled around the Y splitter. No issues with low V. But of course it's all personal

@@stokakrishna okay thank you! I agree, when my kite inverted I had a hard time, because you can't just pull the bars through the Y

Thanks Mike. Any tips for how to handle is on the water?
@gethighwithmike11 ай бұрын
Yeah sure! 1. NEVER try it without someone holding your kite. Sketchy sketchy... 2. Make sure the person holding your kite isn't in water which is too deep to be able to stand, or they will get pushed downwind with the kite
@benclammer94511 ай бұрын
Thanks I guess my question is what if this happens when you are out on the water and no one there to hold kite? Just go ahead and self rescue?
@GaetanoCrisci11 ай бұрын
@@benclammer945 one time i returned to beach flying the kite with inverted lines ... I think you can't restore them on the water because you can't unhook both chicken loop and safety line ...
@Flying-Bob11 ай бұрын
@@benclammer945you can fly with twisted lines, the easiest option is to go back to the beach and fix it there. No need for self rescue
@vinny6138911 ай бұрын
@@benclammer945if you can still fly the kite with the inversion, get back to shore and fix it. Don’t bother trying to fix this on the water. Fixing this on the water (like on land) requires you to fully disconnect from the kite, so big risk of totally losing it because it also tends to drift dead downwind when trying to fix this if someone isn’t holding the kite.
@peteribs56438 ай бұрын
don't see your method if 2 back lines are inverted with 2 front lines (2 backs lines), Am I right ?

@mortenhedegaard75625 ай бұрын
Can you do the same by yourself on the water?
@oleksandrshneyder576Ай бұрын
sure, but practice it first in the light wind and shallow water. I'm flying foil kites and sometimes when I'm missing the trick after relaunch the lines are inverted. It can also happen with an inflatable kite, for example after front stall. Inflatable kite you can simply put on the water and do the trick. With foil kite I'm usually doing it while flying the kite. Sometimes even while foiling (requieres some practice). If your lines are fully inverted (like in the last example of this video) you can do it on the water only if you have a low V bar, like flysurfer or ozone. If you have a high Y bar, go to the shore. You will still be able to control the kite to come back safely.
@oleksandrshneyder576Ай бұрын
for sure you should not do it if you are powered or not experienced enough. But for the light wind foilers it's very useful skill
@GaetanoCrisci11 ай бұрын
absolutely great, thank you Mike! and what about if I'm in the sea with kite in the water? I believe I can't unhook and do this right?
@gethighwithmike11 ай бұрын
Technically, you can do it. BUT it's extremely dangerous because juggling the bar requires that you pass the bar through lines, which makes it very easy to get a line wrapped around the bar. This would result in a death loop, which could be extremely dangerous (pulled out to sea / lines around fingers and digits taken off, pulled into other objects, drowning, etc.) If you insisted on doing it, the key is to keep the bar sheeted out by holding on the QR and pressing the bar away. Also you would want to depower all the way to prevent unwanted steering. But still, not a good idea to do this 🙏 So my recommendation is to ride back to shore with your inverted lines and get a homie to help you fix them with the method above

Is there a theoretical way to pass it through the v while on the sea (Core bar)? Already done it several times on sea with twisted steering lines but i cant think of how it would work with a pass through the v. Can i do..the Line walk or something similar to self landing? Or what
