Fun experience but, its short lived, graphics suck (like a 3D ps2 game), and they get mad if you get creative and put the gun between ur legs, jerk ur gun off like its a pen15, and dry hump fire till the zombies drop. Interesting to read about the fans! I always turned mine on too when playing but didn't realize why I did. Seems I subconsciously noticed how it helped me orient myself. I just thought it made Blade and Sorcery feel more realistic -- which I guess is part of it after all! Crazy how well our brains can process multiple things, especially when having a point of reference like this.

I don't know if i've been to the same place, but it was 2 years ago or maybe 3 that a group of friends and i went to try that. We also had a zombie game (did not look the same), the rooms looked like that and the equipment looked like that. I have to believe it was the same company. When i tell you the lag was so bad they changed our battery packs, restarted the system, and then said there was nothing more they could do, it did really ruin the experience. By the end of it, we were taking turns dying because the game didn't register our movements in real time and i was almost robotically moving the "gun" in my hands to a point, counting to 2, then firing, then after another second would move again. We collectively decided we'd give the software and hardware another half decade at least before trying again Other peiple were doing something like a haunted house thing and we could hear them screaming for real, but most of what we were saying to each other was colored from frustration rather than excitement or fear.

Sandbox VR was terrible when I went last year. I went to the Vegas location in a group of 6. My equipment kept malfunctioning. My display would freeze or shut off literally every 20 seconds and would require a full reboot from the staff to get back up and running. It would then break after another 20 seconds. During the few seconds I was able to play, my weapons would not load in, so I couldn't actually do anything. I also experienced horrible frame rates for those few seconds, like under 10 fps. The rest of my group was complaining about low frame rates (playable but no higher than 40fps) and poor body tracking. Sandbox was kind enough to refund our visit, though.
