I love intermittent fasting because it keeps me away from binge eating, which i usually do lol, so i fast from 4:00 pm to around 6:00 am, that way i can sleep through it.

I'm just going start at 10:30 to 6:30 & work my way to 11-7. My day starts at 6-7am also. But 10:30 is exactly 2 hours into work. Water and herbal teas for the two hours not to bad.

IF changed my life- it upped my energy levels and completely got rid of my bloating. It's insane how much just waiting a little longer in the morning to eat and finishing earlier at night can create such a positive impact (for me, personally)!

Great Job! Tip: slice up limes, oranges, lemons, and grapefruit for your water. Store in an airtight container. This helps me with my sweet tooth and an increase in water intake. Next tip, your one meal should never take up starchy foods. You should limit one starchy food per meal. You should measure only 1/2 cup. Lastly, eat your fruit early in the day. It helps you become full and lessen your sweet tooth. I love all desserts. It is a struggle for me.

Hello Rachel Ama, intermittent fasting is a great challenge. I practiced both water fasting and intermittent fasting after a lot of research. Maybe not a lot. About 40 hours on KZbin. Of course, just like being vegan, it depends on your motivation. Most of the intermittent fasting, that I've seen, are doing it for the six pack and another part are doing it for health reasons, like repairing their gut or losing weight. In the past we were told our stomachs were growling because we were hungry. That's not true. Our digestive system could be creating digestive fluids or simply digesting foods still in the stomach. Many times the psychological aspect, again because of indoctrination, kicks in by us having thoughts, or as you mentioned, of a need for food. I would say those thoughts or dreams are the same as wanting to ask someone out on a date and thinking of all of the reasons they will say, "No." F.E.A.R or False Expectations Appearing Real. Another group, all be it smaller, are finding we really do not have to eat everyday. Many of our habits have been programmed into our lifestyles by society upheavals or just like vegans have found, by agricultural indoctrination. To give an example, in the U.S.A. people from The Great Depression era shared with their children, "Eat everything on your plate." Why, because people from that era sometimes went days with out (water fasting) food. Hi! just a few thoughts, - i have been intermittent fasting for nearly a year now and i don't think i could ever go back to how i used to eat which would be eat as soon as i wake up etc, but i should say you should be more flexible with it and maybe have coffee in the morning to curb your appetite and the first few hunger pangs as they will pass with coffee and the coffee obviously gives you that energy you may want/need. also, i do the 16 hour fast too, but if lets say some of my plans like your classes etc interfere then if i was you i would start breaking your fast later on like 1pm and then finishing at 9pm and just be flexible with it! it should never hinder how much you eat or make you rush your food or eat less.

I just wanted to start out saying I really enjoy watching your videos and I even bought your cookbook and I love it. I've been doing intermittent fasting since November of 2019 due to my diabetes and it definitely is worth it. In November by A1C level was at 12.9 and I had a reading of 511 which scared me. So since I've been doing intermittent fasting, eating a plant based vegan diet and exercising 3 to 4 times a week I have lost almost 30lbs. I have a lot more energy and my levels have dropped as well. I don't want to make this long I just want to keep encouraging you to do continue this. I love your channel!

I did IF for a while, I did 16:8 too and that worked best for me. I found it really helpful and it stopped bloating for me. The longer I did IF, the more I got used to not eating in the morning and it got easier. I also found it lowered my overall appetite. The only times I found myself extra hungry in the mornings were when I had done weight training or interval training the night before! X

My vegan interminant fasting detox started at 12 to 16 every other day. Let all my loved ones know beforehand so we could be on same page. That way they didn't make a plate that meal. Water has been keeping me filled up through out my day. After a month went to a longer period of fasting. My workouts every day got better. Much better than expected. Loads of love to you all.

i started 16-8 IF a year and half ago thinking i'd try it for a month and hate it. ended up LOVING it. it has been so beneficial for me in so many ways!!! def be flexible with it--like with you sometimes i fast for 18 hours and sometimes it's only 12 or 14 depending on my schedule. i usually train fasted in the morning (long-distance running and muay thai like you!) and once your body adjusts to it, it's amazing!!!! i feel so much more light and energetic than i used to when i'd try to cram in a breakfast and not have time to properly digest before a workout.

Intermittent Fasting is something I did without knowing it through Highschool and College while playing Football. Rarely had breakfast and skipped lunch to only eat later after practice. I found I always hit harder when a bit hungry. I do it now whenever I workout. It works for me and it's easier to focus on eating healthily.

Very interested in how it will work out for you in the long term. I've been doing it a few times and was always fine, but the last time I found myself obsessing over finally getting to eat and then almost having a proper binge... Struggling a lot with my eating habits lately, I feel like all my thoughts revolve around it. Anybody experiencing something similar? Looking forward to more videos on that and I also wanted to say, I absolutely love your energy, watching your videos just makes me feel good. I've only today realised I wasn't subscribed yet as your videos popped up on my feed anyway!

I've just finished a week of intermittent fasting. I made the fatal mistake of not taking enough food with me to work today. I won't make that mistake again. Needless to say, I did NOT workout after work. Other than today, it has been awesome. It's nice to see other's journeys. Your food always look so hearty. The strangest thing is making sauces in the morning, and realizing...👀 I CAN'T TASTE IT!😂

I hope this works for you! I can't wait to hear about your results! I don't know everything about your daily schedule, but if you continue having issues with the 10a hangry moment, you may want to change your eating hours from 10a - 6p. It works really well for me! (Note, I don't struggle much with night-time munchies, so it won't work as well for others. I am also up at 4a and start work at 6a, and go to bed at 930p - for context!)

Loved this. Everything you mentioned and how you felt in your first week is exactly how I felt when I started. As the weeks go on, it gets easier and you don't really think about it anymore. I'd love to know your findings training in a fasted state as I normally gym in the morning but had to switch to evenings because I would have to continue fasting for 5 hours before I can eat

Rachel. Great video and interesting experiment. I have a degree in Sport Science and a Masters in Nutrition. I'm only telling you that so you understand why I'm suggesting the following: Do a body composition analysis ASAP. (Use the Navy method - it is really easy) Do one now and one at the end of the month and check your muscle mass. It is ok to do cardio in a fasted state, but I would not do strength training, particularly heavy lifting, in a fasted state unless you were replenishing lost calories (all macros) within 1 hr of training and preferably immediately. As your body fat is not high, your body may decide to use protein for fuel which can result in muscle loss. I look forward to seeing what happens over the next few weeks.

i love to see your channel growing sooooo fast!!!!! i have tried intermitted fasting as well and it worked very well for me :) i got REALLY LEAN! my advice for you would be to not rush too much about stopping to eat at 8, but just note down the time when you last ate and then you just wait 16 hours... like if your last meal was at 9 pm then just wait until 1 pm the next day :) or if it was at 6 pm then go ahead and eat at 10 am the next day if you want :)

aigita kalnina Hi, I go to the gym around 7pm before work I train fasted although I do drink water. I’ll have a tea or coffee when I get to work around 10am and then break my fast at 12/12:30. My meal is big and high in protein to keep me satiated. I will have a snack at about 4pm and then have my dinner at 8ish when hubby gets home from work too. I’ve been doing it like this for so many years. At first it was inadvertent because I never ate breakfast when I was in my 20s. I’m 43yrs now.

If you dont eat enough calories in that period of time, your body will think you are starving it and will store any and everything you eat as fat in fear of you not giving it enough calories. You dont need to diet during intermittent fasting. You can actually eat more calories in that 8hr period...so make sure you are eating enough calories to heal your metabolism.

I love intermittent fasting. Started doing it for health reasons, i have diabetes, and my eating window was 12-4. It makes your life so much easier when you aren't worried about food or blood sugar spiking. I only "stopped" bc I went on vacation and for some reason I told myself it was too restricting. Low and behold, I found myself only wanting to eat during my eating window of 12-4. I am going to start back up February 1st and add in a gallon of water to see how far this gets me. BTW, I did fasting for 2 months before I stopped and I lost 12 lbs.

Really want to try IF, but we've got a newborn in the house now so being up every hour or so makes it totally insane. Trying to go 12 straight hours absolutely exhausted sounds like quite possibly the worst punishment I could bestow upon myself. At least if you can SLEEP 8 hours, those extra 4 hours sandwiched on both sides of sleep are manageable. But 12 straight hours of getting screamed at, and constant trips to the kitchen for bottles (easily 8-12 times per day), with plenty of idle time standing around thinking about food, waiting for them to warm up? Yeahh I think I'll wait till she starts sleeping somewhat normally lol

I would have planned the meals you eat around your schedule, instead of the other way around. Like 1-9 or 2-10 since you have lots of evening activities! It would be much easier that way. Or extend your hours as you are just starting! Thanks for this video! Hugs! ❤️

Doing it, and the biggest thing I noticed was no bloat! I feel like my gut just doesn’t have that full feeling that I did prior to fasting. Also I’m a bit of a food addict so it alleviates some of that obsession with food. I feel like it gives me a little bit of a freedom if I don’t have to worry about at least one meal. And I’m down like 4 pounds in a week… Which ain’t too bad!

most important i shall mark about intermittent fasting . i am doing intermittent fasting for 3 years now, and in order to keep hormonal leves just right, women should know to cut out all refined sugars out of diet, its easy substitute refined sugars with maple syrup or honey or agave and etc, options are many. also read labels what you buy so it wouldnt contain it aswell. best is to make everything from scratch ofc :) . for men its easier with intermittent fasting, so do research and if you feel sudden ups and downs just cut out the refined sugar (living refined sugar free for 3y and am happiest person ever) and You shall be fine :)

I really want to try this but I am a bit scared I would not get all the nutrients needed as a vegan. Its good to see that worked for you actually.

I mix it up with normal eating and intermittent fasting because some days are more busy and I know I won't have the time to make food at the right time or have energy with heavy lifting gym days (powerlifting sessions)

I do that two days a week rn and used to do it every day.. I noticed the bloating does go down, my stomach fat seems to decrease, and I do in fact lose weight in fat. The muscle I hang on to because I still feed myself post-workouts. Overall I like the style, I did notice it affected my energy levels for my long workouts, and so that is why I only do it about twice a week now (as a sort of body reset in my mind) So many contradictory opinions and studies :/

Maybe an earlier eat time would work better for your schedule since that seems to be more of a struggle time? I have tried intermittent fasting a few times, unsuccessfully. I found myself MORE obsessed about food and what I was gonna eat and how much. I continue to desire to find success with it, but for now...it's a no-go for me.

If you wanted to eat two hours before your evening session then why not move the eating window from 10am-6pm?

Great vlog. I do this as well. I also love not having to worry about breakfast. More time in the morning and less rushing to get ready for work. I think hard about what to eat each day because only really two meals a day but it is not a difficult lifestyle change. I don't do enough exercise and want to so your observations were helpful. Than you

a good tip for when you know you're going to be training later in the evening or have something to do in the evening is to increase the fasting period! I eat between 2-10 and days where I know I won't be home from work until 11 or 12 ill break my fast as 3 or 4 instead; increasing the fasting period to 18 hours to fit my schedule :)

Im thinking of doing this for a couple of months and i was wondering what the best time is to workout while fasting? I usually eat one banana or apple before going for a run in the morning, i feel like it gives me the energy i need before working out after waking up. I dont work out in the evening. Does someone have some Tipps on this?

Krystal Beauty hey, look into vegan mono meals and research vegan food combinations. You may be bloating from mixing acidic with sweet fruit.

And make sure that your vegetables are cooked! Also, the body may naturally bloat since it is not used to the amount of fiber intake at once and I should go away naturally as your stomach gets used to it

I keep trying to do it completely, but with a mother’s worry I still fall back on it. Anyways last year was the first successful continued weight loss to 163 from between 178-180 with this method for about five months and little bit of exercise. But then after I really fell off the wagon and am full force attempting it again to a much lower weight. Currently am at 170. I just want to get out of this back and forth.
