DUDE this was so inspiring!!! I woke up and watched this first thing and it helped me realised how possible it is to become competent at something with time and work. I don’t remember the last time I spent an hour working on something for 10 days and though it’s not going to be perfect with 10 hours, it’s sure a lot better than fumbling about.

I can’t believe you’ve managed the polyrhythm in just a short allotted time! You earned my sub! I’m currently learning this piece as well and I didn’t expect the polyrhythm will be difficult lol
@NightWolffff3 жыл бұрын
You've earned a sub. Being 16, it crossed my mind that I'd never have the technical ability to play a piece such as this, as I've been told I'm a little too late to the party. After seeing this, I just ordered an 88-key weighted keyboard, and I'm gonna start learning the moment it shows up. Big inspiration, even after watching for a measly 12 minutes.

I’m 15, doing grade 7 piano and am attempting this piece. It was in a book I got for Christmas and would love to be able to say that I can play it! So far, I’ve played the A section about a third of the speed I’d like it to be but just feel as if my triplet rhythm doesn’t quite fit in! I’m sure it will come with time and practice and some speeding up though. You’re so talented and can’t believe this was achieved in just 10 hours! Well done and keep up the great work x

Still fascinating to watch you learn this very difficult piece in 10 hours!

How long have you been playing piano for? I’d love to one day play pieces like this, but having only played for 2 years I wonder if I’ll ever get there! I still practise 1.5 hours a day though, every day. I know 2 years is a very short amount of time so I suppose i need to be patient as this sort of music takes decades to get to.

Hey, I learnt piano from the age of 6-20, and then have been self-learning practising since. You'll definitely get there! It seemed impossible just a few years ago, but practice pays off. So if you're doing 1.5 hours a day, you'll be able to do it eventually! Keep going!

Wait what’s the best way to practice/learn the beat because it’s 4 beats to 3 beats
@zhengxiyong4 жыл бұрын
I think instead of subdividing and working out where each note fits, the easier way would be to get super familiar with each hand individually, and then when you put your hands together, play it at speed without overthinking each individual note. Just make sure the downbeats of each hand are together - as for the rest of the notes in between, just move swiftly through them. After awhile, you'll get a feel of how the notes fit together without analysing each individual note.

Good friend of mine who finished conservatory started learning this and finished in a month with 3 hours practice every day. Im sad about the fact that everyone in comments didnt have IQ higher than 40.
@zhengxiyong4 жыл бұрын
Haha that's really flattering thanks, though I can assure you it's real. 2-3 pages are just repeats, and I don't think my end result is actually that good - I just learnt to play all the notes with a little detail. I didn't study piano at conservatoire, but I did train in something else at the Royal Academy of Music, and I know for sure my friends who did study piano could do a much better job than me within the same amount of time. Btw as I said, I'm not a concert or professional pianist, and neither am I conservatoire trained, but I have been learning piano since 6 years old (that's about 20 years of learning and practice). :)
@ananthd47973 жыл бұрын
It took me two weeks to learn the notes maybe 20-30 hours max. It's not that big of a deal, really. I know conservatory students could do much more, learning an entire sonata to this level in a week or two.
@octopuszombie87447 ай бұрын
It is very possible. Martha Argerich learned Gaspard de la Nuit in one week, and that piece would take 50x longer to learn than this. I learned fantaisie-impromptu in 6 days. Also learned Liszt sonata in b minor in two months, and that is 5x longer in length and 4x more difficult in technique.
