I Tried Minecraft's Newest Clone (& It Surprised Me)

In this video, I decided to play Minecraft's newest clone: Voxels. Voxels is an early access game on Roblox that takes inspiration from Minecraft's mechanics, style and design in order to create a twist on the blocky sandbox game. Despite being a mere clone, I actually did find quite a bit of enjoyment out of the game, and I was pleasantly surprised. The lighting issue is not an indicator of iron ore, but rather just a result of how Roblox lighting interacts with the voxel system. To help optimize the game, voxel based games don't render blocks that are behind other blocks. More than likely the developers made it so that the blocks covered by the block broken are placed right as the block is broken. This means that there is very little space between the edges of each block when inset which leads to light leaking through. Same thing can happen with shader packs in Minecraft when lighting isn't implemented correctly. There is unfortunately no way to really fix this without coming up with some hacky way since there is no way to create custom lighting in Roblox, otherwise games on the platform would be a lot more polished looking. Its not like the other clones, theyre just a copy of old bedrock edition with a resource pack, but this is a port of minecraft into roblox, which means they put a lot of effort into this: drawing the textures, making the movement code in lua. You cant compare it to the free mobile clones.

hytale is not a clone of minecraft, it is a game inspired by minecraft but apart from being a sandbox the only thing they have in common is that they are voxel games, do not confuse them, they are quite different.

You should check out Vintage story, it is basically Minecraft that is more focused on survival since farming depends on soil quality, temperature and the season aswell as progression since you won't randomly find endgame loot and would need to progress from Caveman all the way up and instead of dragons the game has eldritch horrors

As a mobile player that enjoys alot of pixelated games. This game takes the cake for being like minecraft. I played mc back in 2013 and came back to the game having alot. Still an amazing game but I was always looking for a game that is more vanilla when exploring and more untouched by popularity. Lunacraft was another great mc ripoff if you are looking for a survival building game like it. but sadly lunacraft off the market for downloads. The sad part is that roblox has a very limited space so the worlds can't even be that big because it will start to glitch (You can see that happening in the nether, where your avatar is kinda shaky if someone try to build even futher the game becomes unplayeble)

Voxels seems to be leaning more towards bedrock features; Most of the differences you're pointing out are actually just bedrock things, rather than actually different things or issues (although some of them I'd say *are* issues in bedrock)
