let's throw it back a little bit to the try-on days! today we're doing a good old fashioned try on of levi's new plus size jeans - at least new to me! if you remember when i did this in 2021...it was a DISASTER. Carrie-I’m old enough to be your grandma, and I got my first pair of 501’s in the 70’s!! Back then, they were very heavy denim, and so stiff! What we did is buy our jeans at least a couple sizes too big. Then we sat in a tub of hot water until the water was cool and turned blue from the dye. Then we left the jeans on until they dried. From then on, you pull those jeans on and they felt like they were made for you! God, I miss those days.

Those are called Shrink-To-Fits now and are still sold. Those who have been purchasing Levi's forever will still ask for them and "Denim heads" (geeky denim people) love these. Sometimes the Denim heads purchase in their true size and only dry clean them, sometimes in a size up and customize them when they shrink them.

Agreed! Why are designers doing this to us. Putting us curvier ladies in high rise tummy accentuating/ torso shortening jeans when we all look so much slimmer & better in mid-rise. This girl’s got a great figure & those mid rise really flattered her.

Levi's has copyrighted their signature red tab, but in order for their copyright to be valid they are required to run a certain amount of jeans with the red tab only (blank, no Levi's name printed on).

Levi's sizing is wild even for non plus sizes. As much as I love the brand I've stopped buying because you just never know. There is so much variation between styles and colorways.

I get mine tailored cause they’re still great quality lol but i prefer vintage lee’s for a custom fit, levi’s is better for ladies with straighter proportions and i’m more of an hourglass

I personally hate this new trend of jeans that are slightly too short. Lol I’m way more into either an obvious capri or full length. The “1 inch too short” look reminds me of being 12 and trying to wear jeans that fit me when I was 10 pre-growth spurt 😅 With that said, #3 but sized down to that 14 would be amazing and #5 was so cute but definitely a few sizes too big lol that light wash straight jean style looks so good on you. I’m very jealous as I cannot pull off that color or style at all 😭

@@marthamathilda I don’t hate it as much on a skinny jean. I feel like skinny jeans lend themselves to that style since skinny jeans that are bunched at the bottom also look ill-fitting. But the wide leg pants being too short? That’s just a no from me personally 😆

I LOVE the length of those first ones!! I’m admittedly short so I don’t have the trauma with too short pants- but I always aim for that 7/8 look and think they’re so cute with boots bc more shows, OR with sneakers and a lil ankle poppin out

Have only ever worn men’s 501. In the 70’s-80’s (yeah showing my age😂) they were always shrink to fit. Women’s Levi’s never had the length I need (34 inseam). Wish more women’s jeans had the talks available.

The difference in the red tags is because the brand is segmented to hit all different tiers of the market. Blue tags are top tier (think collections and collabs), then there are red tags that are premium (so like specialty, high quality, $$$), and the red tags that are lower cost and quality that you can find at like department stores.

The rib cage wide leg jeans are my holy grail jeans! I got my regular size which are tight at first but with some time they’re the perfect fit. I would definitely give this style another try!

Highly, highly recommend Gap High Rise wide leg Stride jeans! They come in Tall And Long! Tall extends rise depth and leg length. Long increases leg length to 33.5. Note - they are not super high rise, but I think you'd love them. $80 and nice weight. I'd try both a 14 and a 16 as some can size down in Gap.

The red tag with just the symbol is Levi’s way of telling the world that not only the name is copyrighted so is the red tag itself. This keeps other companies from copying the red tag with their name/logo.

I randomly found a pair of 501s at Goodwill late last year in my size (I'm between a 10 and a 12). I decided to try them on knowing they probably wouldn't work because I have the worst luck thrifting jeans, but they actually fit me. Since I'm also between sizes, I do to always wear a belt, but there now my go-to pair.

I would say any of the jeans that are 100% cotton and a bit too big - def size down. They will stretch and bag with wear so if they are already too big they'll be unwearable probably after 10 wears. Unless of course Levis preshrinks their demin but I dont think they do

Levi’s sizing is wild! I’m a tiny human and I LOVED the ribcage jeans. I had to go to the store to make sure that they fit. They had my perfect size in the light wash which is not what I was looking for so I talked to the manager asking if they had it in a dark wash and they don’t make it?! So weird but he was really nice and ordered me the premium version for the price but so weird. I would just go to the store and try it on

With Levi's I recommend that you size down. What is tight today, will be loose(r) tomorrow. The jeans stretch as you wear them so you want them fairly tight when you purchase them. I won't admit how many jeans I own, I'm a bit of a denim collector, but I always come back to my Levi's 501 Original Fit.

The plus 724 jeans (straight leg) are great, I'm a UK 18 and sized down to a UK 16 in them. Amazon keeps having them crazy cheap too. £35 for Levis is a win.

Though they are at a lower price point, I've had good luck with many of the Levi's Signature extended/plus size jeans from Wlmrt when it comes to a curvier fit adapted to the latest trends. I have pairs from that line that are at least 15 years old.

1- Love the fit on you! But I do agree a tall size would be better. 2- These look so so cute on you! I would love to see them with a cowboy boot and a nice bag. 3- Loving the baggy look! They seem versatile, which is nice. 4- I think these are the best overall fit, but if you already own them perhaps redundant. 5- Wish I could have seen them on you in the size down, but the potential is there!
