Me too! I do feel like the teeth whitening worked and their newer products seem more scientific (?) And it is just purple shampoo for teeth but an interesting idea for when you have an event etc 🤷‍♀️ And yeah the deodorant is our climate for the hot months isn't bankable but keen to come back to it maybe (?) Since I live in Texas it's good to know that the Native deodorant isn't great for really hot and probably really humid but I may still try the body wash. I hope you do a facial care products review, it's something I'd be very interested in seeing.

I can't say enough how lovely the bodywash is!! It's like the perfect basic formula and the scents are lovely and I feel the price is right - I can imagine the deodorant would maybe struggle in the Texan heat 😅 And yes more skincare coming soon 👀💕

I lived in Louisiana when I switched to native. It was surprisingly the only one that works for me in hot and humid areas and I sweat a lot. But I’ve learned that different brands works for different people too

I know this comment is a year old, but I live in Texas and I've used Native for a few years and never had any issues with it. Every body is different so it's worth a shot to see if it works for you.

I tried function of beauty when it first really hit youtube sponsorships. A good 4+ years ago. I didn't like it. I had a bad reaction to the first customised batch where it was burning my scalp. I reached out to the customer service team and they weren't the greatest. They were able to remake my formula without the fragrance and the colour, and sent it out to me. It didn't work. I remember losing a lot of hair. But they might have changed their formulas by now.

I also had my hair fall out using Function Of Beauty!! At first I thought it was due to hormone issues since I experienced a lot of that the past couple years, but tbh I didn’t notice my hair thinning until I started using the shampoo… And when I stopped and switched to a different, drug store shampoo, my hair stopped falling out and actually got a lot healthier and shinier 🤔

I tried Native deodorant a few years ago to try, and I didn’t find it worked for me. Made my armpits moist and sticky in the QLD humidity. Also it gave me bumps on my armpits 😞 when I emailed customer support, they were very reluctant to give me a refund despite how I had reacted to the formula. Wasn’t too happy with the experience 😢

Hi Lucy 👋 I've used function of beauty for several months trying to see how my curls would react. Not a fan of the product for my curly friends. I have low porosity curly, coily hair and I've been color free, heat free for over a year. It was not even close to being enough moisture. Tried the shampoo, conditioner and leave in. Peach scent...smelled great! But my AsIAm products work so much better. 😉

I love Native deodorant but I had to stop using it because of the sweat situation. I need an anti-perspirant in my deodorant, like NEED. I sweat so badly that I was getting a rash while using Native that wasn't caused by the product.

You can buy non-peroxide teeth whitening kits for $20 (in Aust.). I am no expert but I have read about this a lot and used kits a couple of times and also had them whitened professionally at a dentist. Your teeth are really porous after you use these products so you should be eating white foods for at least 2 days after using them. I read somewhere that right after using the kits and rinsing, you should use GC South Mousse. Otherwise you can end up re-staining your teeth after whitening them. And with other non-peroxide whitening kits they suggest using them every night for a week or two. You can't really judge the result until a few days after you stop whitening because at first, or right after using the product, it will look quite a bit whiter. If your are going to spend your $$$ it should be effective.

I’ve tried both Native and Function of Beauty. Neither worked for me. Native gave me a rash and did not stand up to me working from home. I almost felt like it made me sweat more than I normally do. The Function of Beauty set simply was not moisturizing enough for me, but made my hair feel sticky while leaving it dry.

Okay but wait I love Function of Beauty and got the same size bottles.... Actually went back in my bank statement history to see when I bought them, and it was in JULY. I have had this set for almost a year (it's April at time of writing) and still have almost half of each bottle. WTF I'm so impressed. It's 100% true what hairstylists say about high quality products lasting at least 10 times longer because you need to use less of the product for the desired result.

I’ve used Function of Beauty and didn’t find that it gave me results any different than my normal shampoo did so I didn’t renew my subscription. I don’t remember what scent I got but it smelled DELICIOUS.

I feel you - I would say since I'm often swapping between regular hair products and like, purple shampoos / dyes / protein treatments etc I like that it's very... standard haha? When Native first showed up in stores in the USA I tried the lavender and rose scent! Its a lovely scent, but I found when it was hotter outside the scent would mix with my body chemistry and become RANCID so fast! I switched to Schmit's Moon Flower and it was soooo much better! I then saw Native on sale in a store with a Jasmine and Cedar scent and was curious if I would have a similar issue, or if it was a scent thing. So I went to try it in Fall/winter and didnt have the same problem! I don't think I'll ever use Native year round, but at least this smell is nice for colder months! : )

I purchased the Native after watching another KZbinr promote it. Honestly..I wish I didnt spend the money. I notice I sweat more when I wear it. I noticed the sweat smell mixed with cucumber and mint..ew haha

You should try Lume deodorant. I’ve gone back and forth with Native and Lume for a while now and honestly those were the two aluminum free ones that have worked the best for me. Also, I don’t know if I’ve been physically close enough to anyone (especially recently) to be able to smell them, unless they’re wearing exceptionally overpowering fragrance or have just been engaging in some physical activity. Maybe that’s just me and my personal bubble.

Ive been using Native for about 3 years now and totally agree it took time for my body to adjust... maybe 6 months - year until I stopped noticing my sweat-smell in combination with the deodorant.. I do apply again, just in case, if I am going out at night. 😂 I loved the matcha cream and the white tea lilac! I am using the vanilla coconut one right now and its divine! For a recommendation: I enjoy JVN products! they smell lovely and leave my hair feeling so nice ✨

I used FoB for a long time actually. At first it was incredible in my hair, and it was for a time. I think after a year or so though, it wasn't having the same effect anymore. I now use an expensive salon brand (because I can and I'm bougie). However, I use Native exclusively now. Once my body got used to it, I stopped having odour issues. It took maybe a month or so, and it was offset by me reapplying mid day.

I recently (September 2021) switched to Native Deodorants (Unscented version and the Charcoal scent). September is autumn in my section of the U.S. so while I rarely noticed any sweat (however no scent when there was sweat), the true test will be June which is summer for my area. At the moment, Native is serving its purpose. However, guessing I should hold on to my more "traditional" anti-perspirant for the summer?

Yeah it definitely was fine on the average day in aircon but when I actually left the house I was nervous haha and it gets to like 35C here so it didn't hold up on the hotter / more humid days, but on your average 20C day in the office I imagine it would fit the bill! Thanks so much for watching 💕

I had a similar experience to you but with Norsca deodorant. It was like rubbing flower scent into sweat smell. I used it like twice before I swapped back to Mitchum, which I personally find the best for me. It does have aluminium in it, but if that's what it takes to smell good, I'll deal with it.

I used to use mitchem because I’ve always been a heavy sweater. I loved it but I have chronic kidney disease and was recommended to use an aluminum free formula. (There is even a warning on the mitchem container). I have found several aluminum free that work for me but Native always felt like it was melting off.

I love, love, loved the blood orange clove scented shower gel from Native, but I think it was only a seasonal scent. 😭 I also love the scent of the citrus and herbal musk in the deodorant, but I need that aluminum, bby. And the toothpaste from native is also just okay. I like that the flavor isn't overly minty, but I don't think it did anything great either. Haven't tried Function of Beauty or HiSmile before.

Just a lil tip for Aussie friends, the Schmidts natural deodorant from Woolies & Coles works better than Native (in my experience/ opinion), is a lot cheaper and has almost the same ingredients. Native left a weird oily stain and lasting smell on my clothes even when washed and I also ended up stinky by the end of the day, but the Schmidts one doesn't do these things. It's great! I tried the Norsca brand natural deodorant and had a similar experience to Lucy. I think our climate up here in Brissie doesn't play well with that style of deodorant. I might give that one a try, but I feel I need the aluminium to keep the sweat smell at bay.

I have been using the Native deodorant because it just smells SO GOOD. I literally get compliments from my friends that I smell good. I think it works pretty well at doing what I need it to, which is make sure I don't smell bad lol I use the vanilla sandalwood and it's lovely :) And in the US Native is in store now! :D Love your videos!

I'm glad you you reviewed Native. I feel like most people sponsored by them are either not sweaty people or aren't honest. Native is just a baking soda deodorant that charges 3xs as much as other natural baking soda deodorants and I suspected they don't function any better than those. (I've tried 4 or 5 other natural deodorant brands).

I watched your videos over and over again cause I'm a skincare gremlin and I would like to know if you have heard of Lumē? It's cruelty free and vegan also promise all these things, like not smelling for 3 days.. but I'm a smelly Bee so I feel like that part is a shame..also who doesn't wash for 3 days... I'm interested in Naive too but I bought a full range from Lumē so I still have to go thru the deodorant and deodorant cream. The washes were nothing special.. the one big hate I have for this product is they don't have a full range on their products, like they have the sweet lily bar but not in a deodorant.. and the peonies at the time I couldn't get a full line so I had to opt for lavender sage in some items, not that it was bad but I wanted a full line. For naive I want to use the 🍒 scent.

I tried Native deodorant before and not only did it not stop stench very well (and I also don't sweat much if at all), but it turns out my armpitties are super reactive to baking soda so it gave me a horrible rash. 😅 The ONLY "natural"/non-antipersperant deodorant that has worked for me is not overly-sponsered, but it IS overly-advertised on YT and that is Lume. I literally don't have to reapply it and during the times our state of Arizona is trying to conserve water and I'm trying to only shower once every other day I STILL DON'T SMELL AND STILL DON'T HAVE TO REAPPLY. And it has no baking soda so no more rashes 🙃

I use Schmidt's natural deodorant charcoal + magnesium, I find I still sweat but I don't get the smell at all unless I for some reason didn't shower for 48 hours. I used it on a holiday in Queensland and another holiday in Singapore and found the same thing. I tried it after watching the KZbin channel So Your Dating a Vegan try a bunch of natural deodorants.

Of these, I've only tried native because I find both hismile and function of beauty to be pretty gimicky and you can get cheaper products that do better. I tried native, however, because I have had issues with other natural deodorants and thought maybe theirs would be different... boy was I wrong. I ended up having a huge allergic reaction and had essentially burns on my armpits for months afterwards. I defs have sensitive skin and a few contact allergies so its always a gamble with skin products even when I've triple checked the ingredients, but I have to say this was probably one of the worst reactions I've ever had

I tried Native a few years ago. I got a mini and then bought a full size deodorant after. Unfortunately while using the full size, my skin got super irritated and scaly from using it so I stopped. I don't have super sensitive skin though. 🤷‍♀️

Im in no way an expert, but can someone explain to me how Function of beauty actually works? It’s just that where I’m from companies must get all of their formulas tested and checked to insure that they are safe to use and actually work. And all that testing takes a lot of time. So I find it kinda hard to believe that they are actually developing a new formula for every individual customer(if they do, how do they manage to test it in such a short time? or do they just send you a completely unchecked product?). Maybe they already have some basic formulas for like wavy and dry, greasy and dull hair etc.? But then you still get an individual colour and scent, so… I’m confused. In no way am I trying to trash on the company or people who promote it! Maybe if someone understands these things more than I do they can help me wrap my head around all of this😅💕 Loved the vid btw! It’s always nice to see an honest review from a creator you trust

From what I understand, they have some base formulas for different hair types and then as the shine, strength etc add ons are added in to the base formula, and the same with the colour and scent. I'm not entirely sure about regulations but the US is a lot more relaxed than a lot of other places when it comes to cosmetics etc 🤷‍♀️ Hope that's helpful

Oooh I never used native body wash but I really want too. I have however used their deodorant and even their shampoo and I’ve heard about the deodorant before youtube. The scent lasts all day like which i like and I’ve used coconut vanilla and sugar cookie. Their shampoo is kinda lame, it’s silicone free so idk. Leaves my hair feeling sticky. I’ve never used function of beauty but I always want too! So maybe I’ll check them out, my hair is very thin so hopefully it’ll help. Ty for testing out!

I enjoy Function of Beauty shampoo & conditioner, however the leave in conditioner leaves a nasty cast. Leave in conditioner makes me feel like that my hair is dirty when I had just washed it. Plus the $$ is too high for me to afford it all the time.
