hi everyone! 💕🥰 thank you all so much for your support and sweet comments! I'm going to work on a video about how to start and build a skincare routine from scratch, from a simple to more advanced routine 🙆♀️ it may take a lil while for me to put together as I want to make sure it's a solid resource for you to reference 😌💖 in the meantime I'll be goofin around with some fashion and lifestyle content hehe so I hope you will enjoy that too! also I've gotten lots of questions / requests for individualised skincare routines and recommendations. I really appreciate all of your trust in me however I am absolutely not a dermatologist / esthetician 😅😗✌ it is a lil tricky to have a nuanced and complete discussion with you and provide comprehensive advice in YT comments and I'm really cautious about making recommendations with some of your more involved/complicated questions as I wouldn't want to give you any incorrect advice! skincare advice involves so many factors (what is your routine, how are you doing each step, what is your day to day like and what is the environment you spend it in, are there other factors at play etc) so it's not something I want to try and fix via a quick comment. I can't promise I can help but if you do want to have a lil chat then my IG DMs are the best bet and I'll do what I can to give you a hand or point you in the right direction of someone who can. so in terms of making videos for super specific skin type routines or conditions it's not something I'm likely to do as it's not really in my wheelhouse or area of expertise. But as a skincare enthusiast what I can do is continue to share my silly lil analogies and my experiences on here and also point you towards some big brained peeps who have an existing wealth of content and knowledge to cover your bases 🥸💕 Some of my fave resources I can recommend are: - Lab Muffin Beauty Science (one of the biggest brain queens on YT, amazing scientific background, science is cool) - James Welsh (another skincare enthusiast who provides great explanations and makes excellent entertaining and educational content) - Subreddits r/skincareaddiction and r/asianbeauty, they both have lots of beginner guides as well as are easily searchable to find specific queries Sorry for a big ol comment but I want to be as helpful as possible 🥺💕 Again thank you so much for all the sweetness and support, I really didn't expect it lol so this lil rat girly thanks u 🐀💖

What things are worth investing into, what helps with common issues - ie wrinkles/dark circles/zits stuff like that! All i do is a cleansing balm on days i wear make up and a gentle exfoliant in the shower. sometimes the la niege sleeping mask

This sounds a lot like me. I fully expect that if I get into a good skincare routine people are going to be mistaking me for my daughter's sister when she grows up. My mom has gotten that when she's with me sometimes as she still had zero wrinkles at 60, and I was mistaken for a teenager until well into my 30's... some people might still do it if they don't get a good look at my fine lines, although this baby's given me dark circles from time to time. Hopefully some vitamin c and more consistent moisturizing and sunscreen will save the day.

Makeup makes me break out, masks make me break out, breathing makes me break out... Everything sucks. Please help, Lucy!! For reference, my skincare products include The Ordinary hyaluronic acid + B5 and niacinamide + zinc, Innisfree green tea moisturiser and cleanser, Cosrx salicylic acid cleanser, a witch hazel toner, Skinstitute glycolic acid toner, vitamin C powder, and scrub, La roche-posay sunscreen, and a Jeuneora night cream, but I still get everyday break outs and cystic acne. I've been getting really into skincare since this year & I've always been slightly disappointed that the "best" and most recommended products are all fragrance free. The smell of my skincare is actually a big part of the experience for me, and good smells make it more fun for me & therefore I'm more eager to do it. So I'm really glad you also talk about the scent of these products & make some recommendations based on that. Definitely looking forward to more videos from you!
@SchweetCookie2 жыл бұрын
It might have to do with fragrances possibly being an irritant. I have eczema and sensitive skin and the dermatologist I go to recommends I avoid products with fragrances.
@akaneakane19692 жыл бұрын
@@SchweetCookie That is probably why fragrance free options are more recommended yeah, I guess I'm just hoping to find skincare that won't irritate me but also smells nice. I think it's more common for K beauty brands to have the best of both worlds like that, & I'm glad to hear more about good products from someone who knows this stuff
@LucyLivinYT2 жыл бұрын
Fragrance definitely doesn't work for everyone and so to recommend fragrance-free is a safe option as it's less likely to irritate the person trying it 😌 there is definitely a subsection of skincare internet that maintain that fragrance is the devil but I feel if you enjoy it and your skin doesn't mind it then it's absolutely fine in my book 🤷♀️ Everyone has their preferences but I don't really care to police them haha, as long as people have they info they can make their own educated choices on what suits them best, it doesn't hurt anyone else 🥲💗

I have no clue about facial skin care routines. I have usually just slapped on some generic moisturizer after showering and when feeling dry, and thats it. I have been thinking a while of starting a skin care routine for my face as I have started having extra problems with my face lately. So today I went to the pharmacy and horded tons of products they had on sale. I got: - A box of Boots Ingredients Regime Collection which has hyaluronic acid moisturizer and serum, caffeine eye cream, and squalane cleanser. - La Roche-Posay Kerium DS Creme - Botanics all bright hydrating night cream. - Vichy Normaderm Phytosolution - ACO sun lotion intolerance spf 50 I have no idea how to use any of this and in what order and when 🙃 I might even have wasted my money X'D help (Note : I have had skin issues my entire life; ingrown hair on my entire body, dry and itchy skin all over, oily nose and occasionally the forhead as well, flaky skin between my eyebrows, blackheads on nose and chin (small ones), ichy and pimple prone scalp, extremely dry skin on top of my hands, and dry cheeks. I tend to sweat a lot when I put moisturizer on my body, and my legs can get breakous because of that.) (I don't use make-up at all as I can't stand having things on my face for long periods of time.)

I was overwhelmed about how, when and what serums to use but this vid (and your spreadsheet) helped a lot. Went out and immediately got the CC Me serum and wow. Even after just one morning with it...wow. I have quite dry and hormonally ravaged skin and this has helped a lot. I'd love to see your take on a beginner/intermediate/full-on skin care regimen. Am looking forward to future vids that include stuff from your stash page. I admit I only got into Korean skincare from Alex's YesStyle advent box last year where you helped break down what to use when. I have tried a few things since then and will add recc's from this vid in now as well. I have some Pyunkang Yul stuff that I decided to buy as a set of minis/samples that had a cleanser, toner and moisturiser. The cleanser is banging - Low pH Pore Deep Cleansing Foam. The intensive repair cream is thicc and very moisturising but stays on as a slightly greasy barrier all day. Probably good for after sun or really wind chapped days (hello westerlies) but not every day. I've also got the Iunik centella calming gel cream and the beta-glucan daily moisture cream. I found the gel cream great for when you only want something light on your face. I hate heavy creams. The beta-glucan is good when I want a bit more, but still quite light feeling. I ended up with some Innisfree jeju pomegranate samples (a serum, toner and moisturiser). My face absolutely hated them.

Oh my gosh- I just discovered you and I am in LOVE?!?! ♥️ I just started out my skincare journey this year, and I JUST discovered K beauty and it is a game changer!!!! Question - I have both the isntree green tea toner and just recently got the CosRX galactomyces essence as well…. Aren’t they 2 separate steps? Could I tone with the isntree and follow with the CosRX essence? I find their consistency 1000000% different- and I even find myself doing : toner > watery vitamin C > galactomyces essence because it is so much thicker! I would love to know and I can’t wait to watch more of your videos 💕💕💕
@LucyLivinYT2 жыл бұрын
Aw thank you so much! They are two different steps but the definition for modern products seems interchangeable - eg some essences have more of what we consider to be a traditional "toner" consistency and vice versa, some people may only use one or the other but there is no problem in using both! Best rule of thumb is to go from thin to thick 😌 (and follow directions for actives) and not look to hard at the label (eg toner, essence, lotion) as I tend to lump them together due to the inconsistencies hehe

Totally feel you - with K-beauty sunscreens a lot of the ones I had to test were caught up in a recent spf controversy 🥲 so I was cautious to recommend them / in Australia the Korean ones are not as strong in SPF because of our ozone sitch! So even if they're SPF 50+ they aren't really, so I just use them for indoors / desk since I'm not right next to a window. For an affordable J-Beauty sunscreen I adore the Canmake one, and I believe the spreadsheet also has the Ultra Violette one on the currently open tab (most of them have reviews too) that's a lovely spf 50 🥰 I'll keep updating the spreadsheet with more, but I want to make sure my reviews are from recent testing and not distant memory :,) Thank you so much for watching 💖💕

(They are the circular ones) Also a lot of the masks from TKMaxx are good. For me I found that the milk carton shaped ones (they come in banana scent etc) are really bad and I react to them a lot. All of these masks are around £1 each, including the ones in big packs.

Hey Lucy! Was wondering if you'd be thinking about or consider making notes on which products on your AMAZING list are classed as pregnancy safe, or if you know if all the ingredients are listed on the links to the products? (As a currently pregnant mamatobe who has some Very Strange skin allergies to certain ingredients (ranging from jojoba to titanium dioxide to avocado oil) I have an absolute Nightmare of a time trying to find safe items for me to use/try)
@LucyLivinYT2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! 🥰 That is a tough one as there is quite a bit of debate around what is considered pregnancy safe / not. Some people feel comfortable continuing use of actives they already had in their routine, others don't and I simply don't feel I'm the right person to make that call for any expecting individuals! I'm not a derm or specialist so I can't guarantee I can give you safe recs for your allergies, but if you send me a DM on IG I'll see what I can do to give you a hand 💖💕 Thank you so much for watching 💗

I want to try the Sunday Riley products from your video with Alex but is there any point if I already use tretinoin?
@LucyLivinYT2 жыл бұрын
It totally depends on you! Good genes is a Lactic Acid serum so it js a little different to tret, but Luna is a gentle retinol oil so if you're already using tret it probably wouldn't do much in comparison! But I'm not an expert on tret or the concentration/strength levels so I'm not 100% sure!

Can you review skin care products with Sun screens in them? What is the best?
@LucyLivinYT2 жыл бұрын
A lot of the time skincare (eg moisturisers) with spf added in are not applied enough to get the benefit of that spf, so I tend to only purchase dedicated spf products as I want that guaranteed protection 💕 Similar to makeup with spf - even if the foundation has an spf 25 I will still wear an spf for protection. Hope that makes sense!

Saw alex's video :) For the plum plump, would you say the serum of that one is better than the plum plump moisturizer? I'm looking for a moisturizer, or could I just use the plum plump serum as a moisturizer, OR does it really not matter, haha. They seem like they're essentially the same product just in different forms so I'm trying to avoid purchasing both. lmk your thoughts!
@abbyapple362 жыл бұрын
I know this question was meant for Lucy but I use the moisturiser as my day time go to and absolutely love it! For more intense results I’d def recommend the serum. The moisturiser does also work and feels really lovely on the skin. I will say it does leave you a lil shiny (more in a dewy kinda way) so if you’re not a fan of that, you may want to avoid
@LucyLivinYT2 жыл бұрын
bonjourno my sweet chickpea 💗💕 I haven't tried the plum plump moisturiser, but it all depends on what your skin is like and what your goals are so it's a tough question for me to answer 😅 typically HA serums are more about hydration (water) whereas a moisturiser typically can be more about locking in hydration/ topping it off with oil. So if you already have a moisturiser in your routine you like and not a hydrating serum you might like the additional serum more as it'll contribute something new to your routine, but if you're looking to add / replace a moisturiser that may be more your speed. It's a little hard to explain haha but hopefully that helps a bit :,)

The ordinary is 10% while the beauty of joseon is 2% niacinamide.. I use the ordinary as spot treatment or add couple drops to my snail 96 essence or even in my ultra repair cream... It's too strong for strait use on my skin

If you're just starting out you don't need to go all in with six products!! Look for a gentle low pH cleanser, a moisturiser you like the vibe of and a sunscreen that works for you 💖 See how you go and build from there!

Don't get me wrong, I loved the video and all your recs, I just don't think I can keep up with this amount of products atm. Hi there! This video isn't so much of a routine as much as recommendations of products if you like to use them in your routine! I'll work on a video about how to build a skincare routine up from the basics but I really strongly believe your routine should be as simple or as complicated as you like 💖 For a simple routine, a low pH cleanser and moisturiser / sunscreen would be a great place to start and take it from there 💕 I'll work on a video but feel free to DM me if I can give you a hand 💗

Hi bb! A first cleanse doesn't have to be an oil or balm cleanser, you could also try a micellar water for more controlled cleansing / sunscreen and makeup removal so you can be gentle around your lash extensions! 💖
