I made the 3 bean salad!!! Incredible!! I sent 3 ppl home with some bc I was so proud of myself 😂 I'm making more for July 4th. Craving it! A few swaps I made.... I added spicy brown mustard, red pepper flakes, and Tahini to the dressing. (Lemon instead of vinegar, and didn't use so much olive oil bc the tahini has oil.) Fresh, lemony, creamy, & savory! I bulked it up with more veggies like chopped grilled asparagus and rough chopped red bell pepper. Refreshing crunch! I added a few chopped sundried tomatoes and Greek olives on top. Umami! It feels like it's super rich and fatty bc of the way the white beans coat your mouth (like hummus), but it's just the starchy smooth white beans that make it feel super decadent. I ate this for every single meal until it was gone, and it kept getting better as it sat in the fridge lol Thank you, Merle! ❤❤❤

Not only is she an icon and a huge voice for animals' rights, women's rights, and environmental protection, but I also gotta say, that her food is the most delicious in these series so far. She's definitely got a better taste when it comes to food than other people covered on this channel, because there's always been one thing or 2 that I didn't like, but I actually like everything that Pam eats in a day.

Just an FYI, deglazing with wine does more than releasing the fond and adding wine flavor. Some molecules are water-soluble, some are fat-soluble, and some are alcohol-soluble, so when you deglaze with wine, or any other kind of alcohol, you're actually releasing the alcohol-soluble molecules into the dish, which means more flavor. Almost all of the alcohol gets cooked off during the deglazing process, because the pan is so hot, and the wine is the only liquid. This is not to pressure you in any way to use wine/alcohol, if you don't want to, I just wanted you to know one of the important reasons why wine is used in deglazing.

Speaking as someone old enough to remember "Pam" in her 90s heyday, I have to say that it's shocking to see how her image has changed since I was about 20 years old, and she was called (in the mildest language I could find) "The World's Most Overexposed Woman." I suspect that it's a generational issue, either because younger people feel differently about whether being a "sex symbol" is feminist, and/or because GenX had no concept of "influencers." But back then (despite her "Baywatch" character having vegan preferences probably modeled on Anderson's own), no one thought of Pam as a social activist, so maybe she should have hyped her convictions harder: she seems to have done more good for the world this way.

I have a question: you said you don’t drink alcohol, but when you cook with wine (and other alcoholic beverages) the heat cooks off the alcool and you’re left with just the aroma that the wine provides but alcohol free. So why would you want to use alcohol free wine rather than regular cooking wine when making the bolognese again ? Is it that this recipe doesn’t cook for long so you’re afraid that the alcohol won’t cook off?
