Every PVP mode needs its own balancing, never know why modern games never see this and solve for it up front. Even New World has started solving for that awhile back where in PVP abilities are different than PVE. You cannot balance PVP unless you stat level first though, so that has to be step one.

Idk. My experience with arena is completely different than yours. From my point of view if I have 2 wand users on my team they are unkillable yes but after a certain amount of ladderpoints people are built well to resist the sleep or just have builds to counter their 1 burst combo anyway. For example, alot of sns-greatswords at my elo just have like 1.4k+ magic evasion ignore the paladins and burst the dps. Because paladins only have one burst window and it’s soo long (+ its rng) they can’t do anything, even worst when the dps on the enemy team dodges it all. The stealth cringe for points needs to go though.

@@SooooNerdy This is why i prefaced my explanation with “My experience”. It’s from my point of view and is just a counter view from Kanon’s. Neither of us are wrong. And after playing even more arena today I see more and more people adapting to wand+sns. I litterally was on a team with 2 dagger crossbows on my team who had over 2kmag evasion. We were vs 2 sns-wand and a greatsword-dagger. The crossbows carried me and didn’t die a single time and farmed the greatsword player.

@@demianpelos It's only hard because every freaking MMO TRIES to be the NEXT WoW or the next FF14 which they never will be. Also EVERY mmo that has came out FAILED in the WEST cause of P2W only MMO that survived for a long while here in the west was/is Black Desert Online sense its a game you can leave going whilst at work, sexing your wife, exercising. Also the reason we compare it to WoW and FF14 is cause first most at the front is CONTENT aka raids, dungeons, pvp, etc. whilste a lot of mmos that failed was cause they didn't care about the game they only cared about how much money they can make from microtransactions and once they made enough money they stop caring about the game.

I always see people bitch and complain about race/gender locked classes, but if it’s done right and they are truly unique(not in a superficial way) then that will make the game better than most other MMOs! I used to play the human Dark Avenger(how fucking cool does that sound?!) and although Paladin was the better tank, Dark Avengers could summon a fucking Panther and siphon life! Then there’s the Dark Elf Bladedancer that would dance with their dual swords to buff the party. Or the Dwarven classes that consist solely of crafters and gatherers. Or the Elven Temple Knight that could summon cubics to assist them in battle. Oh, and the Orc Warcry could chant to empower themselves and their party. Anyway my point is that they could reclaim their glory days if they just get their heads out of their fucking asses and stopped focusing so incessantly on monetization.

yep, discouraging combat kills arenas. Some of you might remember when blade n soul came a while back... the thief class would just freeze you and re-invis and run away. They would do this until the timer ran out and they'd win by points.

The problem is, they will balance a game designed for mass PvP for an instanced 3v3 arena where there is no other content for a party of three people. I think the lack of balance first comes from trait/bonuses/stats and passives. Remember when game came out, we had different type of "hit" trait ,ranged,melee,magic and they removed it, hit trait now work for all 3 types, why the heck didn't they do the same for evasion and endurance ? Of course doing so will make evasion too strong, all they'll have to do is reduce the evsasions values from trait and gear pieces, and repeat the process for endurance. As for the dogshit CCs in this game, being CC locked for 10 sec + is stupid. Why not take example of how CC work in black desert online ? Add a CC count and when you reach the max CC count on your target then he becomes immunes against CC for 3-5secondes. Then they'll have to look into passives skills for every weapon. Because why the heck GS is the only weapon to give a passive wich boost your hit stat by a huge amount ?

I think they are trying to make something close to Aion PvP and blade and soul PvP, that you have to farm gear for pvp, and spend a lot of money with enchantments. Someone with better gear will always win against you, doesn't matter your skills. And this thing about holding points is stupid. The team with more kills should win.

Yea always WoW's like that you can't expect to go into arenas with full green pvp honor gear and face someone who has full conquest pvp gear and win. How I know this? cause I tested it myself on paladin and it didn't go so well I still fought hard and skillfully but the opponent had better gear and I was just getting hit hard this was BEFORE the plate specialization nerf in arenas and battlegrounds. I don't know I MIGHT give this game a go but with it being made by NCsoft who is notorious for having P2W in their games makes me second guess if to play it or not.

Its clear NCSoft want TL to be PVE main game, so this optional pvp content will be just as dead as it is in Lost Ark. If you don't equalize it you have whales 1 shotting everyone, if you equalize it you get the broken and OP weapon balance where some builds/weapons will dominate, and I guarantee you that they won't try to balance every skill and everyone weapon for this optional PVP content. its already broken enough weapon balance in open world PVP that they havent been able to fix and balance properly. Overall arenas will be fun for 1-2 months, then fall into obscurity and become optional content for whales to boost their egos on f2p players.

i love a "mostly" fair arena ranked pvp experience in an mmo. I do like the idea that gear influences stats in an mmo. NOT something like call of duty etc. I like this because i dont want the game to become a matchmaking simulator. having to force players to play all aspects of the game to become the most elite ranked arena pvp'er is a good move. it means they TRULY are the top tier players in the mmo at the time. in pvp and pve most likely. they are the elite, they worked for it etc. mmo's arent designed to be a completely fair environment, gear is always supposed to trump most things. idk... just my random two cents. love the videos tho and especially you standing up to nexon at that conference, cool stuff

bro thats basicly everything i hear about the game "this is bad, but they made it better." literally on every single topic youtubers talk about this game. it has me confused and hesitant about this game because the west will always be the afterthought region or the beta testers for china launch in regards to MMORPGs. why cant they just release something and its GOOD because someone that knows what theyre doing and what is fun has been working on it? especially with ncsoft i see them making the same shit "mistakes" they did 15 years ago with aion and beyond. i will test this, but im reluctant to spend on this because ncsoft has to trust back first and if you fall behind without the 30€ worth of monthly subscriptions i can at least say i didnt waste my money on this.
