39:30 Great question! The only stat that doesn't really matter in this game is weight. Every other stat is really important. Take Baby, for example. He is easily the best character in the game because of his high speed, max braking, and good spin. He's an amazing character for completing time missions. I hope this helps!

Banana Blitz HD speedrunner here, speed is a really good stat, but being able to stop on a dime when you need to is important. Baby has the best combo of speed and brake in Banana Rumble, so if you want to have a character with super tight controls and slick movement then I would stick with Baby. Hope this helps!

Gah, I always chose the baby monkey cause of it’s speed, but honestly I think the more speed you have just makes the game unplayable cause you just shoot right off the map, so I suggest playing a character with average speed and good weight so you don’t end up flying to your death. (I tortured myself play the whole game of super monkey ball banana blitz cause I just kept flying off screen, trust me, pick the heavy or aye aye choc)

I'm at world 6 or 7 currently and have completed all the levels 100% gah some of the time ones are actual hell 🤣😂 but I would suggest switching between Baby, GonGon, and the Doctor, Baby cause he's super fast and has the best breaking, GonGon cause his weight, he barely bounces or moves after getting launched at high speeds and Doctor cause his Spin dash takes him further then everybody elses

I absolutely love Monkey Ball. If you're open to it, I'd love to see you revisit the GameCube titles, cause they are some of the hardest games ever made imo. Edit: Better yet, play Deluxe for the ps2 or Xbox. It has all the stages from 1 and 2.

On the subject of "good character", I see a lot of people use Gon-Gon for top speed, and Baby for tight handling. Thing is, that's for previous games where weight was really the only major stat, and everything else proceeded from it. I _think_ Sonic replaces Baby in that methodology, but I can't say for sure. And on the subject of "how long would it take me to 100% this game"... I think the answer is "you won't". I can't make it to the last parts of Monkey Ball DX, and that's basically the roots of the franchise, so... Oh, and this isn't the first space trip... though the "God" angle is new.

I’d absolutely LOVE to see you experience the original SMB1&2! Truth be told, the monkey ball series has never quite replicated the sheer precision and tightness of those games’ engine since then, and I think if you really give it a whirl you’ll be able to tell the difference.
