If you didn't know, you can only get loot and XP from enemies you killed. It doesn't matter if you dealt most of the damage, if you did not get the last hit on someone you can forget the spoils of war from that unit. Anyway I'm happy to see more people enjoying this masterpiece of a game.

I had so many problems with this, especially during the noble war crisis, when I almost got the tanky named knight, some polearm users just swoop in and took the kill, I had to use a mod to deal with this.

Weapons on the ground are the ones you'd get at the end of the battle, and you only get loot from units your bros killed.

I think a full rags to riches series would be great for this game. Yoh have a good knack of making the downtime go past without being boring. I also love how you kept calling Steve Trash. Poor guy

With the Legends mod you can actually start as a beggar who starts with some gold and your character is about as strong as Lime's character was while he was drunk. Also one of the Noble houses is hostile to you except for 1 of there towns.

You can make the opening from this less painful if you mix in contracts that you can complete by luring crap into mercs/town militia/etc. You get the contract money no matter who does the killing, and you can occasionally...kill "secure"...some of the enemies to get a little loot.

Highly suggest trying out the Legends overhaul. Its got a lot of features, and it makes the game even harder, adding legendary enemies like rock unholds, stollwurms etc.

If you want to try this again, then I would suggest you get spears to form a spear wall. Makes the tras... ehm not trained brothers more useful. The Ghoules you lost to at the end could be done in if the front line had a spear wall and they had killed themselves upon your lads.

For annyone who wants to test this Challenge the setup apears to be simple. Lone wolf with lowest supply and all he did is sold everything and then lost all of the money in tavern.

I did a similar playthrough, but my first guy was the legends scaling beggar with only a single point in every stat, including fatigue. It was absolute hell, but I managed to survive and thrive in the endgame chrisis.

Im not exactly sure how it works, but i think it would be better if the difficulty ramp happened from a more organic system of units are fighting and growing stronger out there in a simulation style instead of spawning them in stronger that way thered still be small fries to mid tiers running around and varying degrees of enemies strength. That would obviously require the game to simulate everyones ability to grow stronger be that from buying up equipment from towns to looting or forging. Would be really cool to see this game basically reworked into a simulation aspect game.

Do not refuse contracts even if you don't intend to complete them. Refusing them outright damages your relationship with them. Haggling also damages relationship with them. Just accept the price and don't take the job if you don't want to complete that particular mission

Speaking of mount and blade. There's a mod for BB that pauses the game if your party isn't moving. I feel like it's pretty dumb that it isn't a feature for the game by default.

You don't have to be on the edge (white flag) to order an retreat, the game can do it itself Some enemies also lose all interest to hunt when you press retreat at the start of the match, although you also can't control how the retreat is pathed so it can sometimes be catched more easily

I always just manually retreat everyone to the edge before ordering a retreat, the pathing AI doesn't seem to take into account how enemies can reach you so it often gets my guys killed

Little tips, spear is as cheap as the little knifes, but are far more efficient, and can be couched to passively hit enemies that tries to intrude. Very efficient against brainless nachzerers
