Your grasp of color theory is so strong here! By the end it is an incredible likeness! ❤

Hullo Sara, A wonderful drawing done extremely well! I did quite a few masters studies trying to get that "look" and turn out a good copy of their works. In fact it was an assignment from one of my instructors in college. I think you got a good likeness but did not follow through as regards to the background and the line across the forehead, which some believe is a veil line or possibly a crack from when DaVinci repainted her face and the paint cracked the line into existence! He re-painted her over and over again, the painting traveled with him to over a good half dozen homes during his life! I shows his feeling about paintings that "A painting is never done you simply run of of time as the buyer wants their picture" Thanks for trying this very difficult portrait! I hope you do and share more master studies! They are quite fun to watch and can recall that I no longer have to do them!

Bruh this needs to be hung in a museum NEOW!!! This process was so soothing to watch, I'd watch an hour long video process of this or any other illustration you do with alcohol markers❤

Curious to know why you took the eye highlights out at the end. Great video, really satisfying to watching it all come together.

I love adding those highlights in ALL my pieces, but the Mona Lisa has dull eyes with no highlights, and I thought the highlights in my own drawing took that same feeling away from my piece.

I have so much trouble painting brown stuff so may I ask what colors did you use to paint Mona Lisa's hair. I detect you used a red or a burnt sienna like marker on her right side.

I looove it, but why did you cover the white dots in pupils? They made your Mona Lisa much more alive :"(

I think it’s likely either she didn’t realize that would happen (losing Life as you say) or she didn’t think it did that/even if she agrees with your assessment. She can’t necessarily undo it. Better to stick with the decision than be sorrowful of it ❣️

Actually I did it purposely! The OG painting has no highlight on the eyes and I think it adds to the whole mysterious feeling that the Mona Lisa has. I love adding highlights to eyes but I thought in this case it looked a too “Instagram face”.
