There's never a scenario that I am in bear country without a 10mm hand pew at the very least! Hunting or hiking in bear country is dangerous, there's also cougars/Mtn lions and wolves, which are dangerous for hikers and hunters. Personally, I'm packing my 7mm Rem Mag and my 10mm or 357 Mag hand pew pew to protect myself and any member of my Hunting or Hiking party. Regardless of whether I'm on a bow or rifle hunt, I'm packing both pew pews in. As this and other videos, as well as first hand accounts have testified to, even a fatality wounded bear can do an extreme amount damage before it dies. The more available rounds you have, the less chance the bear has to kill me or someone in the group. Thank God this man made it through to tell the tail, even with his dad not putting another arrow in the bear the man survived and thats a miracle in itself

A friend of mine was attacked by a black bear a few years back. It clawed him up pretty badly and bit him but ironically the bites didn't do much damage. As it turned out it was a very old bear with missing and worn out teeth. The bear was also emaciated. It likely attacked him out of desperation because it was starving. The bear was found and shot and it had also been seriously injured in the past and was half crippled. The irony is that black bears are less likely to attack people than grizzlies but black bears almost always try to kill you. Grizzlies are more likely to attack but usually just leave you severely without killing you. At least from what a wildlife expert at a zoo told me. Either way both species can be extremely dangerous.

Never go hunt without a pocket knife, it will come in handy for a lot of things.
@annalucy893 жыл бұрын
What do you think a tiny ass pocket knife is going to do against a huge grizzly? I suppose it's better than nothing but a jab with a knife that small would most likely only anger the bear more and make it more aggressive, plus it's probably very hard to reach for a knife when you're in that situation, let alone trying to stab the bear with it. Bears wounded with an arrow, knife, or firearm may intensify the attack if the shot/hit isn't completely perfect and that's a hard thing to do especially if it's charging at you. A bear spray is the best defense against these animals, it's even been proven to be a better defense than guns in some studies.

Have heard tell of cases when the animal they were looking for came out into clear view immediately after they dismounted. Right side scabbard means bye bye opportunity.

Never run from a bear! That triggers their hunting instincts. Make yourself look big, yell. If attacked, try to roll into a fetal position protecting head, face and vital organs. Play dead. No sound, no movement and hold that until the bear has gone for 20+min. In past a person was attacked by a bear. The bear left but not far. The person thought the bear left and let out a slight sound and the bear went right back into attack mode.

Oooh that’s a good one! 👍🏼 Do you practice I’ve seen shows of people do this kind of like a sport, target you know. That be great for when you can’t carry a Gun like some people are saying in certain states

Those horses 🐎 🐎 dont stand a chance being tied up. You should take a quad bike instead to go hunting. Those horses do not deserve to die out their in Grizzly country. Do glad that your son and yourself survived this bear encounter. This is why you should always carry a side arm too..

that particular bear, was like an over-sized rat, which didn't mind its own business.

Yeah, so they sell this thing called bear spray. You might want to invest in some. Can't believe they have spent so much time hunting in bear territory and they don't carry it. Completely irresponsible, especially if you don't carry a firearm.

yes spray may have saved that bears life

100% agreed. I'd have a handgun but if not at least carry bear spray, it's quite effective.

Just all sorts of stupid mistakes by the father. You don't hit the bear with bow, that won't hurt it and will only make it mad. He should have shot the bear by positioning himself so that the arrow didn't hit his son, but regardless he needed to get an arrow in the bear. And most definitely should have shot the bear after it retreated, it could have easily come back.
