Pitching songs on Spotify is difficult… a lot of times they won’t even listen to the song unless your music already has some traction. I’ve got some friends who pitched almost every song they released to Spotify and didn’t get put onto a Playlist until their song blew up on TikTok/IG/YT. Don’t feel too down!

I find running Facebook ads has been the best way to grow as an artist. $5 or $10.00 a day is a fairly minimal cost to get your music out to new listeners. Also another good one has been paying a trustworthy source to submit your song to organic playlists. Haven’t had any luck with editorial placements or TikTok/reels content. I’ll likely try some content strategies soon, but its all so time consuming. Takes away from the time I have to create the actual art of the music. Btw awesome video!!

I feel hopeless, I spend so many hours and years on making music. I promote and market it, send it to booking and gigs, bla bla. But the music industry has become very very difficult, I think the next step I have to do is to move to the USA or Canada. In Norway I am hopeless and stuck.

no bro moving countries wont change anything. if anything its easier to get started in norway. U just don't know what ur doing

@@luv4hermusic lol what? the music scene here is bad, and everything is expensive. i just lost my focusrite too, which i used to record instruments, i mean idk if you record instruments or just use "type beats" you find on youtube but it is much harder when you do it yourself, especially with the budget. Name me three mainstream artists that are from norway, or even two, idk maybe even one? Playing concerts is probably the best way of gaining recognition, because marketing and social media spam doesnt really have a high chance of getting you followers. If i moved to a country with a bigger music scene, of course it would be easier. It speaks for itself.

@ The Mayries, Yaelokre. But anyway the key is just to have good relatable music. Drop consistently and yes the social spam actually works. U don’t need to get a lot of followers but just a few people going to ur Spotify to trigger the algorithm. There is so many people in America who are tiny musicians. Most people are like you and never make it. Norway is absolutely fine for making a living from music and there is so many people doing it. Again you just don’t know what you’re doing

@kyoshu12 one of my producers are from Finland. Much smaller than Norway. The music scene is better in Norway yet he makes a living. At the end of the day it’s just a matter of skill and knowledge

@kyoshu12 I listened to your songs. You have good production skills but those type of songs aren’t really in demand anymore which is probably why you’re not gaining traction

yeah man, it's tough Good luck trying again, I'm about to submit for the first time and I'm trying not to get hopeful haha This video was super helpful to watch tho thx I liked your beats I noticed your "beats to drive around to" playlist, when I clicked on tarroza at the top it took me to your playlists instead of your music, but when I tried again I clicked on the song name artist, and realized it's two different accounts. Then I found your other stuff. I wonder how many other people clicked on the link and did the same thing though, without taking the effort to go find your artist page. Just a thought? It's crazy how much thought it takes to set this stuff up

Seems useless to pitch anything to Spotify. Maybe promote using Google Ads?
