I tried to write 50,000 words in 15 days and here's what happened

It took me two books to realise that I need to add two weeks onto my writing schedule goal evvvverytime. Because undoubtedly school holidays comes around, a pet dies or some other life event decides to throw me a tit punch. Glad to see it's universal!

It really is! No matter how well I think I have my schedule figured out, there's always a curve ball. Life doesn't care about my schedules.

I agree. Fight scenes are really taxing. They are also usually lower on the word count for me since I try to keep the pacing quick and intense.

Same here!! It never feels very fruitful when I work for hours and only get a thousand words, but if it's a page of combat, those were some hard-earned words LOL

I actually managed 65,000 words in 7 days (multiple projects at the same time)… It was not easy and I was a little burnt out for about three weeks.

That's an amazing word count, but you're right that it takes a huge chunk out of you! I think the most time I've ever had to write in one day has been about 6 or 7 hours, so getting that high is probably off the table for me... but I know I'd be wiped out if I did it. Whew.

@@BethAlvarez I find little pockets of time to write, or write all day without realizing. Lol. 😂 the most I’ve written in a day was 11k in multiple projects. I usually have at least three projects going so I can switch between them when needed.
