Personally, I love the slip and shine/moisture of Uncle Funky’s CurlyMagic, but totally agree with you on it not holding too well for a sustainable wash-n-go. From the looks of it we have a similar texture and curl pattern, so I’m interested in your thoughts on The Doux’s Big Poppa Gel if you’ve heard of or tried it? that shit is 🔥 the Bee Girl by them as well

Maybe consider using with a topper gel. I use the UFD gel with the innersense I create Hold gel and my hair is just how I like it everytime. I think UFD is more like a curl activator with no hold

Curly magic is my holy grail. Will this editing is everything! Also this shows me every gel doesn’t work for everyone, I have tighter coils, and curly magic works great on my hair(defines and lasts long) I’ve never paired it with other products in the line though so that could be why.

My stylist uses this on me but she doesn't use it as a gel. She rakes it through on soaking wet hair then does a normal styling routine with a gel (Innersense) and my hair never looks better! I do have different texture and curls tho but she says she uses it on everyone and she got trained at Cut It Kinky!

I love love looove the storytelling and editing! So beautiful and genius. 😍😍😍 I use Uncle Funky’s as a staple base gel. It’s meant to be used as a first gel with a firming holding gel on top. Also with this product, application is EVERYTHING. Apply uncle funky while you’re still in the shower with soaking wet hair. Then, drizzle a little more water until you feel it hold a little weight. The reason you do this is because it’s a gel that is aloe based, so it increases whatever water you put on it. Then add a topper gel for hold.

Same happened to me. But the second time I did it with soaking wet hair and applied A LOT. The best combo in my humble opinion is this with the Doux mousse def on top. Styles last a whole week and then some

UFD is more of a base gel. It's meant to be used with another gel that has more hold. Next time use it with Wetline Xtreme on soaking wet hair. Don't use anything else. No oils or butter. Just water, UFD, and Wetline. I've been using this combo for months, and my hair's been loving it.

There are base gels and topper gels/mousses. Uncle Funky’s is a base gel. Don’t use any butters or any else like that. You put the curly magic on in the shower on soaking soaking wet hair. Then put the mousse def or crazy sexy curl mousse on top once out of the shower. That’s a good wash and go right there ! 🤗💃🏾

This is one of your best videos! Production, your usual humor, and HONESTY! Now I have to offer my advice. I see a lot of other people saying this but do it SOAKING WET HAIR. Hell, I sometimes do it in the shower. Make sure the roots are saturated and when you squeeze it you want it to sound like there’s soap in your curls. Idk how to explain it but you want it to make that squishing sound you hear when your hair is soapy and saturated. Also, this is usually used as a leave-in and then another stronger hold gel is placed on top of it. The professional combo is this and I Create Hold by Innersense. No traditional leave-in or butters or anything. Literally just those 2 products and a bucket full of water. Make sure it’s that gel from Innersense cause they make another I think. I probably won’t ever touch another combo for my hair. I also don’t even look at the other UFD products lol

You should try it again on soaking wet hair right after rinsing out your conditioner, then either the doux mousse on top or another anti humidity gel on top. Usually works great on most hair types

Curly magic is a WET HAIR product 😭😭 also, it’s hella humectant-based so if you want a strong hold, you prolly wanna use a strong holding gel as a topper over it. This gel is for holding water.
