I’ve live and die by these rollers and have done for years🤘🏼😍 I always sleep in them, one of the only things that work amazing for my long hair. A tip for a quicker and easier style put your hair in a pony and just roll the ends x

Love the format of this video! Definitely chat more haha. The speak-singing/ always making noise thing is so relatable to me and honestly I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t like it? 😂 In terms of your tutorial, it was super good and v informative as is your style, but I think it’d be really helpful to see the back of your head a little more! Like maybe a little time lapse where we just get to see that as I know when I’m trying to follow along, I always want to see where each curl is placed haha.

I LOVE bendy rollers! But they are so uncomfortable to sleep in. I usually will roll my hair in them when it is damp (works best for my hair) and then before bed carefully take them out and then put like the soft rock’n’rollers in so it’s a bit more comfy :)

Didn’t know these existed, thanks for the video. I have long hair and think these might be the jam for getting more hair per roller so i don’t run out of space. I get dents in my manicure too! I do mine in the morning so they don’t get grids from my sheets. Noticed it more when I switched to vegan/green polishes but think that’s an okay compromise.

I hadn't thought of that but you're so right about the natural polishes. A morning routine is good. They can dry over coffee! Yeah the bendy rollers are definitely good for long hair! And the curl lasted well too fyi!

I had the chance to buy an extra 6 velvet covered hot rollers. Now, I got enough. Sometimes I have leftover rollers sometimes I have none. I do like to use them for de-frizzing my hair which is VERY thick. Then I do pin curling or use a curling iron. Unfortunately, I don't get the same outcome as yours with bendy rollers. In my case, my curls do not last. They quickly smooth out and I get a silky smooth somewhat wavy hair which is nice but not what I want. I have two types of those bendy rollers: the really smooth ones you get at the beauty supply and those inexpensive ones which are a slightly coarse on the surface. I have not used them anymore since it doesn't work with my hair. Bummer! Your hair cut tutorial NAILED with me! I basically used it "to fix" my base haircut which is not exactly a middy haircut but was OK enough to achieve vintage curls and styles. Your video improved my haircut by 200% ! At this rate, I might not need to go back to the hairstylist as I keep it the same length. Please make another video of yourself doing your haircut. Practice makes perfect and once one gets a hang of it, the sky is the limit!

Oooh, you got such authentic 40s-looking waves, lovely!! Question #1: How long was the drying time? Question #2: This might sound funny, but do your bendy rollers have the "squeaky" pool-noodle type of foam, like styrofoam, which are the typical pound/dollar store variety, or are they the smooth, grippy sort of foam you see in the more expensive ones like Conair? I'm wondering if you were actually able to get such a pretty set from the cheaper ones!
@MissBeeTownsend4 жыл бұрын
Hey! The drying time was about an hour, but it was very hot and that almost never happens. Haha. And they're smooth, but I only know this sort as they're the only ones I've touched or seen in person, so I'm not sure. I got mine from the pound store so they're cheap (£1 per pack of 8).

@@MissBeeTownsend Thanks! Haha, yes, I miss how quickly my hair would air-dry in the summer. I'm looking into getting a modern bonnet hair dryer to speed up things and leave my hands free. (Edited to say I found out vintage hair dryers up till the 70s or so contained asbestos (!!), so I would only look at getting a modern bonnet dryer. Also, I think you have the better quality smooth but grippy foam rollers, which makes sense. Hope I can find some for a reasonable price here!)

My mum is a former hairstylist (specialised in alkaline permanent from late the 70 to the early 90)and when i bought my hot roller set she told me to get at least two sets (there're 10 in a set it's stupidly not enough she always told me that a full set of curlers should be around 30,that way you can accommodate most heads) and i didn't hear her at that point and i figured that it's a full set and it would be silly to take several, so now i have 10 sad little rollers that i have to compliment with a curling iron (unless I do a late 60s thing and only curl my ends)

@MissBeeTownsend4 жыл бұрын
They're all the same size, as far as I know. I don't think you'd want them smaller tbh. They already create very small curls. On short hair it will be much curlier because the weight won't drag the curl out of the hair. Hope that helps xx

Vintage Tips & Tricks with Miss Bee Townsend However I think you’re right, the standard size you can find in Poundland is the right size for most sets, the small ones are nicer for different eras and the bigger ones almost give you a 70s curly blowout

Until you know how to use them they hurt like hell(if too tight it pulls if not tight enough it hangs heavily) and you won't get a curl (the material take forever to dry and the shape tends to look more like a wave than a curl) but i managed to get it to work once for a soft 80s look and they gave me the coolest messy wave ever (i have flat baby fine really shiny hair so it gave a nice contrast and 80s wet sets look surprisingly edwardian, i can make an gibson bun ranging from late 1890 to early 1920 that looks convincing in ten seconds, which never happens) for earlier styles i prefer using brush rollers they give me the most accurate looking curl in my opinion
