I legit have been doing 3 minutes, 12 rounds with a 30 second break in between with a 1lbs Crossrope. During the pandemic I did this everyday. It was rough at first but after a while I've conditioned myself to the point where it's just natural now. I've done it with a 2lbs crossrope as well and for fun I like use the 1/2 lbs. I've done it in every single weather you can think of. Hard wind, rain, snow, burning hot sun etc. P.S. I live in Vancouver too and can between frequently scene jumping rope at Robson Square Downtown at the ice rink during my lunch breaks. Doing this has made my overall fitness to the next level. It compliments my Martial Arts training (mainly kickboxing / Muay Thai) and do Dumbell Circuits, Kettlebell, and Medicine Ball training in-between. I very rarely miss a day and listen to my body all the time. I make these workouts as easy or as challenging as I want. #CONSISTENCYISPOWER 💪

Great video... I started skipping with 1 and 3/4 pound ropes about a year ago. Super frustrating at first, but then things got better. I like to do things like 4-5 regular skips, then 4-5 alternating foot skips, then 2 left, 2 right and repeat. I found that if I just do the same thing, it gets pretty boring. Another cool pattern I use a lot is RLRRLRLL (I know, a paradiddle!). Do this fast and it feels great.

@srdjanpopovic92432 жыл бұрын
Weighted ropes (like the 1/2 LB) are actually easier to use than regular (light, plastic) jump ropes. The added weight slows down your rotation and lets you feel the rope turning around your body so you can time your jumps better. It's a completely different jumping experience
