Thank you! I really liked how these paintings turned out. Mixing a limited palette to get your dark tones can give a painting a really nice vibrancy. I might have to revisit these colors. I haven’t been using alizarin as often lately but it’s a nice color. Some painters use it as their only red.

I have used this paper for 20 years…this paper surpasses Arches by ten fold. One great thing….you don’t have to stretch this paper and you will Arches.

VERY nice review and some beautiful natural locations you have access to. I know its an old video but I can see production value shot up considerably also..you using a drone?

Thank you! If I remember right I think i had just acquired my drone and was really excited to use it! In general the videos with higher quality are the videos I plan in advance. haha.. most of them i fly by the seat of my pants or make them up as I go along. This one was planned as a review so I kind of had a vision going in. I think that always makes for a better video. But i'm always learning and growing. It's a balance between making videos I like, but not spending so much time on them that I don't actually paint or make music and do the main things as much.

Needles highway! We just took that same trip last month! Went to Yellowstone through South Dakota and then cam back through Wyoming and Nebraska. I also love painting in gouache as well as oil. Great paintings and great reviews!

Danny Sabra I’ve never been to glacier yet. It’s on the list though! Yellowstone is my favorite. I’ve been 3 times now and each time it’s like a fantasy. The animals and the vistas. I can’t explain what it does for my soul. I am always drawn to the mountains. Here in Missouri the leaves are changing And beauty is everywhere lately. I hope to get out and plein air some of the colors.

@@GRM-ART Thats a great point. I've been holding out on some sales to try it out. Originally I was going to go with Arches after trying some Blick 100% cotton paper but then on amazon saw the winsor and newton and thought it was worth a shot for the price. I can say it's WAAAAY better than the blick paper. It's not an apples to apples comparison because the Blick paper I got was smooth so it handled differently. But beyond that, the thickness of the paper isn't as heavy as the W&N and even though it says its 100% cotton, the paint doesn't really soak in like it should and mainly sits on the top which isn't always ideal... maybe I should do a comparison of all three papers. Do you know are there any other big brands I should check out that offer 100% cotton paper? I used to paint on Canson Mixed Media paper but that has no cotton content and handles way differently. Thats better for low quality studies or experimentation.

@@DannySabraArt i have tried arches, fabriano, and saunders. They are 100% cotton and offers cold and hot pressed type, and with different weight ( lbs or gsm). And they become my top 3 watercolor paper. I want to try baohong watercolor paper which is 100% cotton paper too. Because of your review, i want to try W&N too. Hope to find a good deal in my country.

I've used fabriano for drawing on and I really like their paper. I'm not sure how easy theirs is to get for watercolor paper near where i live. What country are you in?

I really loved W & N papers. They are super expensive though. Could you do a review of their all new pro watercolor paper line? I’ve heard many peoples disappointment with the poor performance and textures, and have been hesitant to order any. It appeared the cold press had a noticeable mechanical texture looking online. Your paintings are beautiful!

Yeah it is expensive for sure. I think the price has gone up quite a bit since I reviewed this as well. I hadn’t heard of their new pro line but I’ll check into it and see if I can get my hands on some. I’m not a fan of that mechanical look either. I’ll see what I can do. I ordered one of the last few available original pkgs of the paper from Amazon, paying an inflated price to get it. However, the seller sent me the new and cheaper version with the blue pkg. I’m a little shocked after looking at it. It is 100%cotton, but is noticeably thinner like cardstock and it does have a visible texture. I’d sure be interested to hear how you felt about it, if you try it.

Yes it is good. But way overpriced. They are defo one of the greediest watercolouring suppliers.

To be honest I wish it were cheaper but I found it’s price comparable to arches and other 100% cotton paper. Blick’s branded paper might be slightly cheaper but it also didn’t feel as good with big washes to me. I should maybe do a follow up comparing a few brands and maybe do something more scientific. What brand do you favor?

@@DannySabraArt i found on jacksons art that arches paper etc is about 8 quid (approx 12 dollers) cheaper in the uk than w+n. Great vids by the way 😁

Thank you! I wonder if the pricing is regional? W&N is about $4 cheaper when I look for it online. If you can get arches for $12 cheaper I’d definitely go for it! The only complaint I’ve ever heard about arches is that it’s expensive! Haha.
