Wait whats wrong with mica. From what Ive heard its natural.
What I do when I'm at the end of my shampoo bar, I take a travel shampoo bottle I've kept and reuse for the following purpose. I stick it in there with some water and after about 24 hrs it's dissolved and that way you get one last use out of it. Plus you get to use absolutely all of your shampoo bar. I also do this with my solid soap for that last little piece. I will keep them in a Lush tin and then when I have enough little pieces from various soaps to give me one or two uses, I do the same dissolving thing. Thought I'd share in case someone wanted to try this too :)

I also thought I'd never use a shampoo bar until I tried the Lavender Shampoo bar from Waste Free products (dot) com. Lathers like a dream and all natural. I like your idea of saving the last little piece and dissolving it. My Grandma (who grew up during the depression) would cut up her last slivers of bar soap and put them in her washing machine on laundry day.

I can! But if it takes me a lil bit to make that video (I have quite the list of vids right now), I'd say my cold-weapons of choice (hehe 😉) are all lifestyle related. I'm not sure this helps but I'll send them over just incase. They are... 1. Plant based diet : I know this sounds SUPER annoying (and honestly cult-y) to anyone who's not plant based, but since adopting a vegan lifestyle and diet, I very very very rarely get sick... maybe 3 times in the last 6 years. (I've witnessed several friends who have also made this lifestyle transition say the same. Some of them (Tay included) used to be sick ALL the time, and I can physically see the difference in them myself!) 2. Multi vitamin every day when others are starting to get sick around me! 3. Lots of water & greens (and foods with vitamin C if possible before I catch anything as well) 4. Move my body : I know this goes against what people say but I always feel like after I move my body/sweat, it shakes my cold faster for some reason 🤷Not sure why! 5. Good sleep (and rest throughout the day) 6. If needed: Chaga mushrooms And then I usually wait it out 🙈 I've also heard about DIY cough drops but haven't made them yet! Maybe in a winter "Will it Work?!" video!!!! I'm down! Hope that helps at all!!!! Sending ya lots of cough-and-cold fighting energies hehe x

Use tea leaves - you can buy reusable tea bags of you prefer using bags to the metal strainers (I do, I'm just waiting for it to be available in my country without having to be wasteful in shipping from Amazon). Try move away from cough drops maybe? My nurse brain says coughing is a good thing to try and bring up stuff from your lungs rather than it sitting there. But if you can't do without it, even a cough syrup rather than cough drops - it's in larger, maybe there's one in a glass bottle? and just use is at night so you get good rest and although it's a pain, let yourself cough during the day. Use hankies not tissues. Use vapour rub as a steamer so you get like heaps of boogers out at once. if you do it in the morning and an hour before you go to bed that should hopefully cut down on postnasal drip too. Ask your pharmacy if they reuse their medication bottles if it's the same medication - use liquid paracetamol (Tylenol) and reuse the bottle, measure it out with something you reuse. Or ask to reuse the pill bottle if it comes in that.
@majacrawley18915 жыл бұрын
dancingpinaygirl buy a tea diffuser or reusable tea bags! and buy your tea in bulk, such as from a tea store (eg. david’s tea) or bulk barn! best teas for colds are peppermint and green tea. if you eat honey, put honey in your tea, or purchase a ginger honey and use that as replacement for cough drops (just take a spoonful when needed, i learnt this trick from a voice coach). if you own a diffuser use that often and put peppermint in it! during winter and flu season i use my diffuser every night with peppermint in it and it makes such a difference in my immunity. also steam!! when you have a hot cup of tea just cover your head with a towel and hold it up to your face until it cools off a bit, helps so much. and classic: keep your hands away from your face and wash them before eating or prepping food. i hope some of this was helpful, i usually only get sick 1-2x a year and this is how i do it! :-)

If you can get bulk french green clay (my co-op has it) it works well for a mild exfoliant. And you can make a mask out of it. But I like to mix it with a bit of water and scrub it on my face when I shower once a week or so, and then just wash it off in the shower which is super easy. And it smells like nice neutral clay scent.

Because 1 there are a lot the body doesn't even absorb so they literally just being peed out. 2 if a person needs to take an iron supplements or something specific and they should probably be taking a dedicated supplement for that and not just have it as part of a multi vitamin. I personally do like gummy Vitamins. I'd rather have it chewable or pill. Not because of flavor/texture because I do like gummy bears but I've noticed with other gummy vitamins you pay the same price for half the amount you get in tablets, and you typically have to take two a day since one isn't enough so that's cut in half as well. Also it's unnecessary sweetness instead of training the tongue to have a regular vitamin. Plus other concerns since gummy vitamins are a new thing. I lived with my friend and his four kids, and I had the take chewables to get them use to it instead of expecting everything to be in treat form, and they were much cheaper (plus I made sure thry ate healthy dinners 5 nights a week). So that's my opinion and standing on gummy vitamins. I'll take a pill form anyday.

Hi there. You need to pair the cleanser you made with double cleansing. You need to use some oils to cleanse your face and then use a tissue or a cloth to remove the excess oil and wash with the cleanser, the flour has properties of absorbing the oils. So you will be left with clean but hydrated clean skin. Give it a try just once or twice maybe. Amazing video 🤗

I use the patch bandaids myself and I am quite happy with them...a couple of things to note though is that dry storage is essential to their longevity so maybe not store in the bathroom. The shelf life isn't as long as traditional products. They don't stick quite as well and don't survive past more than one or two washes, so I end up using more of them. However since they are biodegradable this is not such an issue, more of an annoyance, but does 'feel' a little wasteful.

But I'd say it uses the same amount of product per-application as other sunscreens. So as quickly as another bottle that size 💛

Sorry for asking this, you probably have it in another video, but do you know of a good zero/low waste or plastic-free liquid foundation? Where I'm at in southern Washington, we can't recycle plastic at all in my small town and I have no idea how to reuse plastic foundation bottles :(
@bloodflower41415 жыл бұрын
Your best bet would be to buy glass bottle foundations and re use them for travel size lotion/shampoo containers or essential oil blends depending on if they come with a dropper or pump. Otherwise MAC Cosmetics does an empties take-back program. The Body Shop, Origins, and Kiehl's also do but idk if they accept make up empties. Finally, RMS or Ilia beauty also tend to do glass packaging with aluminum lids, but idk if they're actually marked for recyclables.

Can you try the Ethique face bars? I know you tried their conditioners, but no one’s really talked about their face bars or body bars 😊

I use the body bar and the exfoliating face bars - I really like them, they last for ages. I am on my second body bar in about a year. They don't lather, but they leave my skin soft and no reaction from my fairly sensitive skin. I have also used the deodorant which I liked. I have super reactive armpits lol, but it was fine, but it did attract moisture, so it turned a bit gross after a while, so wouldn't repurchase - I'm sure there is some clever way to store it, but I couldn't work it out 😏

I know you said you don't need another hair product, but for the sake of reviewing for everyone else (to see how you compare them to your others considering how much you love shampoo bars) - testing out Hibar would be helpful for me personally. I am almost out of my shampoo and am planning on trying them as my first shampoo bar.

Plaine products is an amazing company and they make a liquid shampoo and conditioner! Their bottles are stainless steel and you can send the bottle back for reusing or recycle it!

Seed sounds like 100% greenwashing to me. They don't even need the paper layer, it's just there to make the product appear more green.

For people looking into shampoo bars Chagrin Valley Soap and Salve sell some really good ones! Some have honey so look at ingredients first. They are all I have been buying the past year. A lot of scents and hair types to pick from.

I think that those bottles are better than traditional bottles, but they should have gone further with their bottles. Like why did they use a pump, a metal cap where you just pour the shampoo out would have been so much more sustainable. I was gonna buy their brand but then I saw the price and it was way HIGH! Also solgar is a supplement brand that sells in a more zero waste bottle. Please do you research on folic acid, I learned a while back it isn’t the best to take that vitamin for your health.

I’ve been considering using them when I run out of the hair products I have left, and they said they are working on getting a fragrance free version released soon within the next couple months, so I’m pretty excited. I have wavy/curly hair so I’ve been worried about ones that are hard to rinse out etc

I have an issue with those gummi vitamins. Firstly I don't understand why companies put extra ingredients in to give them colour. It may be natural but very few of these products actually have the colour they'd have without extra colourant. It's an unnessicary extra ingredient. Also I suppose I have an issue with it being in that cardboard box... When it has a tinbox AND the refills come in biodegradable bags...why do they use this extra packaging that is the box? It would be a better choice not to and just using thicker bio-friendly/degradable envelopes for those refills... An odd priority. Otherwise a great product, I think.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback! Typically gummy bears that are strawberry flavoured are red to indicate the flavour. It appears a lot more appealing to eat in comparison to a clear gummy so we had to think of all consumers. That's correct our colouring is all natural from black carrot extract and this is the only colouring in our product. You can find our full ingredients list here: www.vegums.com/product/the-original/ We also have an opt out option where you can chose to have as minimal packaging as possible. Meaning you can just get send our gummies in their refill vegetable starch bags. We also use jiffy green envelopes which are made from recycled macerated paper to send out our orders. Hope this helps! 😀💚

Great video (as always)! I purchased the patch strips a while ago and really like that they are compostable. However, the "plastic" foile that each and every patch comes in, what is up with that? Is that compostable as well? I can't really find something on that and thought you might know?

Any zero/low waste perfume recommendations? The best I’ve found so far is By Rosie Jane since they have a take back program, but since they recycle not reuse do the shipping emissions cancel out the good done by recycling? Maybe there’s a better option out there? Thanks ❤️❤️
