For even better sound, there is a company in Florida called PlugUp that will modify the SLR3 to include a jack for a 3.5mm plug so you can use custom molded ear monitors. Draw back is that you have to send the entire unit to them, but well worth the effort. Cost is around $60 US plus shipping.

I have a few questions if you dont mind. 1. Do you use your neotec 3 + sl3 with ear plugs? This is because I am concerned with hearing loss. 2. If yes, would your statement about the slr 3 sound quality be still true both on music and intercom? I saw some people online complain about the sound being not loud enough (or maybe they already have hearing loss). 3. How many people do you ride with? Do you all use the same comms? I also read people complaining about mesh dropping fron time to time. They used senas too, but with different models.

Something that you might have missed but might be useful for others: If you use an action cam and connect the Sena directly to it to capture sound from the mic, the sound quality is usually much better when compared to other universal solutions. Just make sure you are using the HD Voice option.

Sounds like it'd be great for touring motorcyclists, especially those who ride in groups. Great to drown out the ambient noise and maintain conversation with your riding partners. Although the modular helmet is less durable than a regular full face. But if you're an EUC/scooter rider, having noise insulation is, IMHO, undesirable: you need to hear the street around you. I'd recommend a music speaker external to your helmet (e.g. on your belt) and just refraining from talking on the phone while riding.

Hi there thank you for giving your opinion. On the Sena slr3 I also only use to talk on the phone so even if I used motorcycles I would not use it for music but it work great. Hope you are well and have great rides :)

What are u talkin' about man? I've ridden with a cheap Lexin intercom (V6 with a pointy antena) clipped to my Scorpion helmet at 250+ km/h and it didn't noticed issues with my aerodynamicity. And the best part is that that intercom worked at that speed, however hearing it is a different matter ;)

Do not listen to this guy, Anything over 40 Mph you cannot hear the music due to wind noise. I have a wind sheild on my bike

I would recommend you to do a hearing test something must be wrong with them. You also can buy some a filters to use to cut the sound of the road and protect your ears because I really believe you've been damaging them

I have a very noisy helmet and a super cheap comms unit and I hear the audio even when going 110kmh or more,so I would expect that the Neotech ring the quietest helmet on the market and the integrated comms unit which would cutdown wind noise an turbulence caused by having something stuck to the side of the helmet, it would sound great.

@marcelchaloupka if you want a quiet helmet you should buy a full face helmet not the neotech… when more moving parts the bigger the noise

@@MADpack you can’t possibly have any riding experience, otherwise you wouldn’t make such comments as you’d know that shoving your head through a small opening at the bottom of the helmet stretches and loosen what little neck padding there is making full face helmets very noisy in a very short time. There is absolutely no comparison between and full face and modular helmet. Modular helmets have superior seals around the neck making them much quieter than any full face will ever be. The added benefit being not having to take the helmet off to refuel, have a snack, drink or talk to someone etc.

@marcelchaloupka man to answer back you can just make some search on internet and see tests made of a full face and modular and understanding that what you are saying is not true… yes is more snugged around the neck but that’s it… By the way you have a great tool that you can use to do some researches and you can ask questions called chart GPT… have you ever tried that? Just for testing purposes I’m going to share here what chart have to say and let’s see: Generally, full-face helmets tend to be less noisy than modular helmets. Here’s why: 1. Full-face helmets: These have a single, solid shell without any moving parts, creating a tighter seal around the head and face. This design helps block out more wind noise and reduces overall turbulence, leading to a quieter experience while riding. 2. Modular helmets: Although they offer the convenience of flipping up the chin bar, the presence of seams and moving parts in the modular design tends to allow more wind and air turbulence to enter, making them slightly noisier than full-face helmets. The gaps around the joints and hinges can also increase wind noise. That being said, noise levels can also depend on other factors like the helmet’s aerodynamics, fit, and the riding position. High-end modular helmets with better sealing and soundproofing can sometimes perform closely to full-face helmets in terms of noise reduction.
