Yes, the sauce is the only thing at Subway with any flavour at all. Anything else they have to put on subs are tasteless.

There needs to be a national register of "spicy/hot" levels. Nothing more disappointing when something is advertised as super hot/spicy, and it barely registers. I was hoping this would be a good one. Looks like it's an ovoid. Especially for the cost.

Greggo, every review you do, I always try to guess the score that you will be giving it. 3 - 4 out of 5 times I guess the exact score that you do, and on this one, still giving us the description of it over all, I was saying "7 or 8, 7 or 8!". Greggo, I always lose when you come in with fractions! If only Subway hadn't been quite so generous with that cheese that changed your mind from 7 to 7.5! I'm going to try one of those, and squirt my Sriracha sauce on it! Right, next review!

I had this the other day from the Subway at Westfield Helensvale on the Gold Coast and the sauce I had on mine was legit spicy. And yes you have to actually indicate you want the Harissa sauce on there at the point when they ask you about sauces, they wont just put it on there if you ask for a "Harissa Steak Sub". (in fact they wont put any sauces on there unless you indicate you want it regardless of what sub you actually order initially)

Subway is struggling here in the Scotland. They have put their price up above a full hours wage. With the crippling recession, the majority of us just don't have disposable income. I used to love having a subway or two a month.

Some years ago, my daughter, niece & I went to an Indian restaurant. We each ordered. A different dish. I found mine was rather lack lustre with only a mild heat. My niece was saying hers was really hot (spicy) so I tried it, only to find it was even milder than mine.

I'm a New Zealander, and I've had two of the Fiery Subs - Chipotle Meatball and Peperoni and the Harissa Steak. Therefore, I just need to try the Spicy Chicken Classic. Anyway, for me the Harissa Steak was spiciest Fiery Sub I've had so far. When I first ate the Harissa Steak, it didn't seem that spicy to me at first, until I nearly finished it. When I almost finished the Harissa Steak, there was a lot of Harissa Mayo sauce at the end, and when I ate it it sure packed a punch. I can also the jalepenos added to spice, which was what made the sub spicier. Otherwise, those are my thoughts.

10 bucks for a foot-long is quite a decent price! Where I live a foot-long will set you back 15-17 Aussie dollars for sure!! Looks very nice as well!

I have never had a bad experience at a subway, except that one time I got a little extra mayo when the kid working there took all his teenage angst out on the mayo bottle. I laughed about the amount I got though.

I tried the mild one a few days ago. 100% correct, pretty much zero spice. You should have added jalepenos and Sw sauce to kick it up. And not Mayo. That dulls any heat.

Had the South Korean fried chicken today. The sauce make it otherwise it would be bland. From tasting it was hoysin sauce with garlic and maybe corriander. It made the dish.

I'm amazed that Subway gave it a three chillies on the description, as i don't find harissa that spicy, maybe beecause i'm from Scotland, and we need the heat😆 You didnt get much steak, did,it mooove away from your sub?😂 My favourite Subway is a meatball marinara, with salad, cheese, chilli sauce, and toasted.

As an regular subway eater when they ask you what sauce you would like that’s when you say you want the Fiery Harrisa sauce, you got Mayo instead. So really u just reviewed standard steak and mayo sub 😂 look at the photo, it should be an orange colour sauce.

Fun review as always. Steak subs from chains are a disappointment. The local mom and pop stores knock home runs on steak and cheese subs. Just have them drop some jalapeno peppers on it, when they make it for you. When I go to Subway, the only sub I get is the foot long BMT, untoasted. But it's been a while.

I had dinner with Chinese people and I thought I could handle hot. I was milk on the table, coughing and tissues. Then a South African bloke said they had hot. It is most chillies but they add enhancing herbs most likely from the Indians. It can burn a hole in your guts and make you run and scream through the night. I would love to know what the enhancing herbs are.
