This. Adding more cardio does not equal more weight lost. Better to just do the 30 minutes then lift and eat less calories. The YT channel Renaissance Periodization just put out a good video on the exact subject.

It's more than calories in/out. Hormones play a huge role. He should go carnivore imo. Fix all his hormones get his metabolism back up. Weight will fall off effortlessly.

I struggled to lose weight for years even though I was dieting and exercising how we've all been advised to. I calorie counted, tried keto, etc. I was still overweight after months of effort, I didn't lose anything. I happened upon some videos about fasting and it's benefits and haven't looked back. I'm not overweight anymore. Diet + Exercise for health and fitness. Fast to lose stored fat.

Okay Fudgey how was I supposed to calorie count? I was in a calorie deficit. I work a blue collar job, walking 3-5 miles a day on the job. I also was working out 3-5 times a week. I started with a moderate calorie deficit but as it became clear that it was not working I cut more and more until I was eating the daily minimum for women and became hungry all the time. What was I supposed to do? Even if I cycled in and out of a calorie deficit to keep my metabolism high why didn't I see any results, even at the beginning? Why is it I tried on and off for years and nothing changed? Even when trying things like keto on top of calorie counting? Now I fast a little bit and then eat a healthy varied diet without counting calories and I feel great, better than when I was cutting calories every day.

@@k_e_d_e_isorry but none of that makes sense. Unless you are suffering from some strange illness you were not tracking your calories correctly and were not in a calorie deficit like you believe. Kudos to you for losing weight now but fasting is not some magical thing. In the end you are still eating less and with the combination of exercise, hence you are in a calorie deficit.

Actually, what matters most is the diet, not the grind. You don't even need to push that hard to lose weight. You can go for walks, maybe do some light running, doesn't matter that much as long as the diet is preem.

@@Tomiply 💯 agree that a good diet is important. But diets are the number 1 thing people fail with. Moderation is best, instead of starving of the body of important minerals pending with which diet is followed. A vid intitled "Fat loss diet for ironman triathletes ironman shred". Is an informative piece explaining why diets fail. Calories in vs calories out. One is never sure how much calories is consumed (how many calories in a banana?) so it's easier to embrace the grind or to push harder than last time to ensure that calories are burnt. My intention is help motivate our friend to keep extending the goal post instead of settling on the same routine. If it doesn't challenge you it won't change you. ie his been on level 3 on the stepper since the beginning.

Keep at it mate. Ive always had weight issues. For me it's mental health issues and food becomes a friend. So I can easily gain weight but lose it fairly quickly cause I played a lot of sports when I was young. But it's my mind that's fucks with me. I'm talking about 20kgs gain in months and then lose it just as fast. But I'm finally getting to a good place mentally and in the zone again.

I know you must be sick of everyone throwing out advice, but maybe running outside again will get you motivated and help your body burn fat. That’s what works for me. Once I start going for runs, it makes me not want to eat junk food anymore. Because when you’re running the last thing you want to think about is eating junk food, so you start to associate the feeling of eating junk as a bad thing. That’s my theory anyway.

Schole I’ve been following your journey, if you wanna make a massive change in your body in the last 12 week it’s calorie deficit, you gotta , track what you eat then use an app like my fitness pal to eat less calories, forget instance 2000 Kals is good to lose weight per day but you cant out train a BADD diet uso , alofa!
