Mate as an Aussie that owns a B7 RS4 i appreciate the fact you guys have decided and persisted with refurbishing such a neglected old weapon of a car! Its a real shame it has been left in the state it has but for you to put in the effort and not just throw away such a special car is a testament to your character and shows you appreciate how special these cars are. Well done 👌👍

For the torque converter bolts, weld nuts on top. Loosen using those nuts. When at all loose, cut off the nut. Remove by fingers or vice grips.

Hey! Next time when having a trouble with seazed pistons, use a mixture of Petrolium (petrolium lamp liquid) and aceton. Mix them 50:50 and pour in cylinders. Let them soak for a day. It wil even fix the stuck oil rings. Usually works on engine that has also stuck piston oil rings. Then change oil, put 98 or 100octane fuel, go for a spin and problem solved. ;) I've been a infiniti mechanic for years. Hope this tip will be useful in future!

I wonder why it was stripped down in the first place? Then subject to water? Strange goings on. As people have said, some owners are underhand with selling their vehicles on to unsuspecting buyers. Playing the insurance game is not for the fainthearted - do time for fraud. However, Tomas you have the engine stripped down so it's now a case of checking everything before committing too much cash to new parts. A case of one step at a time - don't overcommit until you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Maybe this engine was thrown back together previously as a seized lump just for insurance purposes? then the water damage? to appear more convincing, to go to all the trouble (previously), to remove and rebuild'ish, and not use new seals n gaskets and proper sealants (where specific sealant is required) this engine never ran after bodge (fake previous) rebuild. is it the original engine -production date, V5, VIN? - love your work btw.

Holy cow, that engine is a complete mess. This is just me, Audi’s in general are super cool cars for the first 50,000 miles. They are great looking cars inside and out. But at a certain point when the miles climb, these cars seem to turn into a complete nightmare when one is trying to own a car for a long duration, as in 10+ years. The car’s is in good hands now. It’s unfortunate the owner got taken for a ride by a mechanic with no scruples. This makes for good viewing though. I just really enjoy the technical expertise, and just the overall good morality, and doing the right thing exhibited by this mechanic.
