I’d love one know what this work would cost? Also here in Australia too few mechanics know how to do this so the bill will be 10k. Most people will sell to an unsuspecting single mum

I had a 2004 Audi S4. The car is notorious for its all-plastic timing chain guides which eventually break, resulting in major repairs. The common wisdom all over the forums is to replace the chain guides before they break with RS4 parts which are metal with a plastic wear surface, and to never buy an S4 unless you get proof that the timing chains system was upgraded with RS4 parts. I see that this STILL doesn't fix the issue. What a POS.

Hello. I was wondering if you have a list of all the parts that you would use to put an Rs4 B7 back together. I have not taken it apart yet. But I know that it was knocking. I can only assume it spun some bearings do to low oil. Hopefully I will not have to junk the engine. Thank you in advance.

What is the best rebuild kit for a 2015 1.8L TFSI engine? Passat engine burned an exhaust valve and the cylinder walls are scored. I have a machine shop that is willing to re-sleeve the block and do a valve job on it but I’ve got to find the parts.

why didn't you tape the bottom of the connecting rods when you were installing them into the block ? can't you easily scrap the cylinder walls ?

@VAGTechnic just the tip of the connecting rod swaying back and forth during install. It's been known to happen. I'm not saying you did it but it's a precaution some people do to avoid long term problems.

You need to do "Closing of protection for charge of H-V battery". It is in adaptation of unit 21 (Batterly Energy Menu). This will allow 48 V battery to be able to charge again. It is on when 48 V battery reach 10% SOC.

You are amazing sir and you do make it look easy. What are the chances in the future for you to make a comprehensive video or a series of videos regarding what involves an engine out and timing chains service on RS5. I have a 2015 RS5 and I plan on keeping it for as much as I can as I love it ! But I wanna learn it inside out and do the work myself. I’m in the middle of doing the carbon clean but with my luck ( nothing I ever accomplished came easy ) I had an injector stuck, I know I should have left it alone but after the extraction tool with the slide hammer shattered the plastics at the end of the injector I kinda had to pull it out. It required a pry bar a vice grip a piece of plywood and penetrating oil believe it or not, I also wanna ask how nervous should I be about the injectors, I didn’t protect them from debris as much as I should have, and I also understand that “cleaning” them with carb cleaner is a waste of time unless you can advise me on something. Thank you very much and I appreciate your videos.

Info from Audi TSB The 48V battery cannot be charged if the SoC of the 12V battery is above 60%! If necessary, drain the 12V battery to a SoC between 40% and 60% by switching on the ignition for approx. 20 minutes (longer if necessary). Look for TSB 2067906/5. It can be found on the NHTSA site after selecting the model and choosing MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATIONS
