If this was possible they obviously would've done it themselves. That is how you make an album - record loads of tracks, hoping to make some good ones, then cut the weak ones. Unfortunately all 37 were all the same level of nothingness, so they released them all as 3 bad albums, which helped them progress through a multiple album deal.

@Reds-Retros5 жыл бұрын
Yeah STN is still one of my favorites of that era, Angel Blue is a great burst of energy and 99 Revolutions (demolicious version preferred) is a great opener, not sure why it was put so late on to Tre. I probably would have put brutal love before Amy, opened with 99 revs, stay the night, then kept the rest of the list the same while throwing in Angel Blue somwhere before x-kid too. 17 songs is still less than 21cb, and most of them are overall shorter too. I still love Rusty James so I'd wanna put that somewhere on there too, but the more I think about it, the more my version would probably just end up being almost the entire trilogy, but with only a couple of songs off Dos.

Lady Cobra 8. Wild One 9. Dirty Rotten Bastards 10. Missing You 11. Stray Heart 12. X-Kid 13. Walk Away 14. The Forgotten 15. Amy I had a concept of a guy going out partying and making all kinds of bad decisions (one of which includes cheating on his girlfriend with Lady Cobra), and also losing one of his closest friends. It's no American Idiot or 21CB, but I think it works well enough. I don't hate the trilogy. Combined, they're all solid records, but there was definitely some fat that needed to be trimmed. This was a good video Jon, keep up the good work.

This is a good idea. I've always loved Green Day but these 3 albums were so underwhelming on their own XD
@levindeed Жыл бұрын
This video just got in my recs now, but I like the concept and I think I've figured out another solution - hopefully you still check the comments under older videos, because I'd really like to hear some feedback. So my idea was that since the previous two were concept albums with somewhat cohesive story, this one needed something like this as well. It turned out to be a bit too reminiscent of the American Idiot's storyline, but hopefully with a fresher twist. To be fair, a move like this would actually seem logical, since Green Day like to reuse old ideas lately. So I've cooked up something like this: 1. Brutal Love - agree, a great opener, setting the themes of love and search for freedom. 2. 99 Revolutions - Meet our main hero - he's young, punky, angsty, trying to pass for another Jesus of Suburbia thinking about how everything around him is wrong. The problem is he's just an immature brat, who's putting too much blame on everyone around but himself, and his solutions to everything is to party and "revolutionize" things until they go away - sometimes 99 times in one night. 3. Lazy Bones - Diving from his "edgy" not-really-political perspective into his personal life, we see that he's in an unhappy relationship, and mostly he's the one to blame for it, because he's can't listen to his girlfriend Amanda and only thinks about himself and partying. He doesn't realize it though and keeps the evading, self-distancing, nearly abusive state of mind and feels down and depressed for the wrong reasons. 4. Let Yourself Go - finally he decides: screw it, she's not the one anyway, I need to go out and have fun, and loyalty isn't in the picture. He kicks her out of their flat telling her and himself to let themselves go. 5. Oh Love - Calming down, the hero tells himself, that it was a great "revolution" and that Amanda was all to blame anyway, so he's looking for another connection, "finally something true" this time. This is also a "calm down" point after several more or less charged tracks. 6. Kill the DJ - he parties like crazy, getting so drunk that he's leaning into the "edgy voices" in his head and imagining a blood bath at the dance floor. It takes hours to walk it off. 7. Stay the Night - he finally meets another girl, who seems like she's as crazy free-loving angsty mess as he is, and they hit it off from the get go. 8. Baby Eyes - the new relationship is as intoxicating as it futile, but the hero doesn't realize it yet, getting completely engulfed into the romance... 9. Nuclear Family - ... until he realizes, that it's developing too fast for him, and he still craves freedom (duh). He's thinking about the concept of nuclear family and finds it unappealing, and as a result, the new relationship starts feeling as stale as the last one. 10. Nightlife - realizing the hole inside is empty again, he drops to the lowest point in his life, cheating on the new girl too. Ashley and Lady Cobra could be here, but Nightlife works better as a) it breaks the pacing with a slower style and b) it's recorded in that "drunken" style that can highlight the lowest low of the hero even more (plus it just has more streams on Spotify than the other two). 11. Stray Heart - moment of realization: he's been away from Amanda long enough to realize that she was probably the one in the end. He comes crawling back, trying to apologize. 12. Missing You - Amanda doesn't accept the apology and rejects him, trying to stay away from the abusive relationship. This, of course, makes him miss her even more, the abusive loser that he is. 13. Dirty Rotten Bastards - rejection follows denial, bargaining, and finally realization that maybe (just maybe), our guy was at fault this whole time. The shock is so strong that he actually goes to therapy to figure things out. 14. X-Kid - Therapy clears his mind and unravels the hidden motives behind his actions to himself. Is it enough to fix the broken relationship though? 15. Amy - he's trying to make amends with Amanda once again, but this time he's doing it somewhat right, asking to at least be friends again. This is an open ending, where we don't see either if she agrees or if he's changed enough to not turn into an abusive bitch two months after. Optional bonus track: Amanda. Here we can find out that she didn't accept him in the end, and he became either somewhat obsessed with her, stalking her with useless apologies, or moved on and remembers her as the lowest point in his life that made him better - depending on how many years have passed and how much do we like to think that he's changed. What'cha thinking? I've cooked up a spotify playlist, it's called "The fixed trilogy Levindeed edition", and the bonus track is in there as well hidden behind Cage's 4'33" for comical effect xd

I made it into a double album with 20 tracks total. The tracks I added were Stay The Night from Uno, Stop When The Red Lights Flash, Wild One, and Makeout Party from Dos, and 8th Avenue Serenade from Tre. This version keeps tracks 4-7 from Dos in tact and I think they all go really well in that order. On Uno, I agree that Oh Love makes no sense as the closing track, and I also think that Stay The Night being the second track is too early, so I made Stay The Night the closing track on Disc 1. I overall like your suggestion a lot ;) as I watched this, I was kind of wondering if you'd give my favorite song from the trilogy, "Missing You", a spot - very glad you did ;) it's a kind of surprising favorite for many I talk to.

Not sure my order, but I know Stop When the Red Lights Flash, 99 Revolutions, and Stay the Night would be included.

Three great tracks, sir. I have all three on the epic double album I made out of the trilogy (Stray Heart).

This was a fun video! Green Day is also my favorite band of all time. II'm definitely gonna be giving this one a listen. You included a lot of my favorites (Amanda, Lady Cobra, Missing you, etc). I probably would have found a place for 99 Revolutions or stay the night, but we all have different favorites from the trilogy. Still looks like a great list!

I did 13 songs since I think it’s the standard number for an album. Here’s mine! 1. Stay the Night 2. Let Yourself Go 3. Stop When the Red Lights Flash 4. Lazy Bones 5. Makeout Party 6. Angel Blue 7. X-Kid 8. Loss of Control 9. Lady Cobra 10. Walk Away 11. Dirty Rotten Bastards 12. Amy 13. Oh love I had the same reaction when the trilogy came out..I was just happy to hear Green Day coming out with new music but overtime it started to sound really formulaic. There are some really good songs though that I didn’t put in! Loved the video! Hope more like these are to come!

I've always imagined the best version of the trilogy condensed into one album would be more like this: 1. Nuclear Family 2. Stay The Night 3. Carpe Diem 4. Let Yourself Go 5. Kill The DJ 6. Rusty James 7. Stop When The Red Lights Flash 8. Stray Heart 9. Amy 10. X-kid 11. Little Boy Named Train 12. Dirty Rotten Bastards 13. 99 Revolutions

I totally came up with this idea when I commented on your Uno! Dos! Tre! review video last year! Only my track listing would be pretty different to what you came up with. I would reduce it down to 12 tracks and it would be: 1. See You Tonight 2. Stay the Night 3. Kill the DJ 4. Let Yourself Go 5. Sweet 16 6. Stray Heart 7. Ashley 8. Nightlife 9. X-Kid 10. Dirty Rotten Bastards 11. 99 Revolutions 12. The Forgotten

For me personally, in no particular order, these 11 tracks would make my condensed album Nuclear Family, Stay The Night, Let Yourself Go, Kill The DJ (PUT YOUR PITCHFORKS AWAY XD), Oh Love, Fell For You, See You Tonight, Stray Heart, Ashley, 8th Avenue Serenade, Sex Drugs and Violence As you can probably deduce, Uno is by far my favourite out of all of them haha XD Great video man! Love the reasoning behind each song! \m/

Awesome video, Jon. I've thought of this concept ever since early 2014. Seems like my personal track order is much different from everyone else. Mine is: 1. See You Tonight 2. Let Yourself Go 3. Stop When the Red Lights Flash 4. Kill the DJ 5. Lazy Bones 6. Wild One 7. Oh Love 8. Stay the Night 9. Fuck Time 10. Stray Heart 11. X-Kid 12. Dirty Rotten Bastards 13. Brutal Love 14. Amy I guess at the end of the day it's good Green Day released all three albums. Seems like everyone has different favorites. Even the band has very different favorites than the fans

That’s Loud 12 Walk Away 13 Brutal Love 14 Dirty Rotten Bastards 15 Amy (If you couldn’t tell Dos is my favourite)

What an immaculate track list dude. As a fellow lifelong fan of GD, I have to say you dominated this.

mine would probably be 1. Brutal Love 2. Nuclear Family 3. Stay the Night 4. Oh Love 5. Lady Cobra 6. Fuck Time 7. Let Yourself Go 8. Lazy Bones 9. Stray Heart 10. Kill The DJ 11. Dirty Rotten Bastards 12. 99 Revolutions 13. Amy 14. X-Kid 15. Stay the Night - Acoustic I had the idea of a guy fresh after a breakup with brutal love, then going to a bunch of parties, nuclear family, then meeting a girl and falling in love with her (stay the night through fuck time), then he starts to give less of a shit about her and more about himself (let yourself go through 99 revolutions), then regretting it in Amy and X-Kid. The acoustic version of stay the night is the hidden track.

I decided to make my own list before you revealed yours just for fun, and I had a blast doing it. We had some similarities as far as reasonings as to why we put certain songs where, and we also each had 1 pair of songs that were back to back in the original albums as well. The big difference is I wanted to start with a bang as opposed to you wanting to start slow, but we both had Nuclear Family follow Brutal Love to bring the energy back up. 1. Carpe Diem 2. Missing You 3. Stray Heart 4. Lazy Bones 5. Brutal Love 6. Nuclear Family 7. Stop When the Red Lights Flash 8. Oh Love 9. A Little Boy Named Train 10. Amanda 11. Rusty James 12. Makeout Party 13. Dirty Rotten Bastards 14. Sweet 16 15. The Forgotten

Before watching the video, i tried to make my own "3 into 1" album, this is the tracklist: 1) Stop when the red light flash 2) Little boy named train 3) wow! that's loud 4 stay the night 5) stray heart 5) X kid 6) fell for you 7) Lady cobra 8) Wild one 9) Dirty rotten bastard 10) 99 revolutions 11) Missing you 12) Lazy bones 13) The forgotten 14) Drama queen 15) Walk away still a lot of songs but i like it, and yes, no kill the dj or oh love, it's hurt, a little, i know

Inspired by your video I thought I'd put my own tracklist together. When putting together this list I wanted it to play out like a vinyl record. So here it goes... Side A 1. Let Yourself Go 2. Nuclear Family 3. Baby Eyes 4. Kill The DJ 5. Missing You 6. Dirty Rotten Bastards 7. Brutal Love Side B 1. Walk Away 2. Rusty James 3. 99 Revolutions 4. Sweet 16 5. Stray Heart 6. X-Kid 7. The Forgotton Hidden track: Amy Everyone feel free to let me know what you think!
