Nigeria gets enough sunshine daily. So Solar is viable. Wind is also strong in some parts of the country. So wind turbines should be considered. Besides centralized solar, individuals could also be allowed to build grid-tie systems. Furthermore, Nigeria has access to the ocean that never runs dry. Dam the water, and use it for power generation. If they really want it to work, then find out how other countries have managed to make it work. Adapt their methods to the Nigerian environment. It's that simple.

A year later and still very relevant. The bottom line, irrespective of what politicians says, is that it is impossible for Nigeria to create a regular supply of electricity as long as they produce 5 000mw. For example in South Africa with a quarter of the population of Nigeria, they produce 60 000mw and as we all know, there is not enough electricity to go around in SA. That's why they have load shedding (power cuts) The difference is that SA is continuously expanding its electricity production and at the beginning of 2024 launched bidding for more than 7600mw of new capacity and expects 5 500mw of gas projects to be online by 2026. The reality is that Nigeria is the country with the largest energy access deficit in the world Well presented as always
