The power sector is full of corruption, incompetence and constitutional problem. I just hope this new law for state to generate power will work, but I seriously doubt it. Around 1989 or before I was nursing the idea of going back to London but I would have left much earlier but my Late Father wanted me to get my first degree first. A year later and still very relevant. The bottom line, irrespective of what politicians says, is that it is impossible for Nigeria to create a regular supply of electricity as long as they produce 5 000mw. For example in South Africa with a quarter of the population of Nigeria, they produce 60 000mw and as we all know, there is not enough electricity to go around in SA. That's why they have load shedding (power cuts) The difference is that SA is continuously expanding its electricity production and at the beginning of 2024 launched bidding for more than 7600mw of new capacity and expects 5 500mw of gas projects to be online by 2026. The reality is that Nigeria is the country with the largest energy access deficit in the world Well presented as always
