On your older truck build, is that a maxxD roll off system transformed to fit that truck frame?
@rollingopsКүн бұрын
@b4man823 yes. But we had Mac Corp create a 17ft bin, with the same 60 inch rails made so it would fit the whole bed. We can still pick up our regular 14ft bins with it as well.

Yep the flat beds are definitely handy for equipment moving unfortunately mine is only 13 ft long because i built my trailer for up to a 12 ft bin. What length is that one.

It's roughly sixteen foot from the back to the tail. Twelve foot would make it a little tight!

@rollingopsКүн бұрын
It is I am going to keep it. I believe I like the classic look more. For now, but I think I am going to recreate that bumper with a winch. As it sits, now it needs to be welded up for different plates Anyway. Up close the metals, not as straight and nice. But I would like to have an off road Looking bumper, we can swap off and on

So you attempted to do the right thing and I know you know how to based off your other videos so why did you chain over the tracks come on. You put four binders on if you're going to take time to do that just cut a chain. You know how much business insurance is One incident and insurance becomes a big problem Plus when you start growing if you're new employees see you doing it wrong they will always do it wrong it's like a virus you'll never cure it
@rollingops19 сағат бұрын
@MIGHTYX2010 ahhh. I knew this would come up. Hear me out. Because I'm not super happy about it either. And even told Keegan "don't ever do this, we will get better chains and straps for this" The way I saw it - legally (according to many I have spoke to, and additional research) a Machine under 10,000 lbs only needs 2 chains and 2 binders, as long as they are the right size. And then an additional tie down, if there is a bucket. I'm nearly sure running over the tracks is legal? But not ideal. BUT, 4 points of contact are, of course, perfered and recomended. And should be best practice. That's why I ran 3 chains and a strap. The reason I went over the tracks.... Keegan and I originally did 4 points in the corners. But because of the short bed. We had to reverse the direction of the chains. To provide equal tension from the corners. But, As we winched the excavator onto the truck the first time. Despite being tight, the machine immediately shifted forward HARD. And all the weight was on the front chains. The back end of the machine was wanting to lift off the bed of the roll off as we loaded it. Because it's very top heavy at that load angle. So, instead of taking a dramatic angle forward with the rear chains. I ran one big one over the tracks, through the tie down points. And aimed it more straight. So the binder would anchor it to the floor more. While also preventing the rear from wanting to lift. Again. I wasn't significantly pleased with it. But I believe it was legal. But we are going to cut specific chain lengths, and grab different sized binders and keep them on the roll off flatbed. I already bought an ammo box and labeled it. We want to mount it to the flat bed. Where I will store the specific chains and binders for the setup. And then a second ammo box with a few straps. Hope that all made since. Typically, when I am loading equipment like this, I have a bigger surface area to work with. We will improve that for obvious reasons. My biggest fear was watching that machine Flip off the bed while we loaded it! Thanks for always watching man! I know you are commenting about it because you genuinely care!
@MIGHTYX201019 сағат бұрын
@rollingops I know you try to do the right things and what's awesome about you is that you will pivot adjust and correct a rare quality. So because it's rubber tracks it is illegal to go over them if they were to tear your binders would be loose and your machine would be all over the place. I believe if they were metal tracks you can use them as a tie-down point. Seeing your predicament you can cross your binders from front of machine tie-down point to back of trailer d-ring and then from back of machine tie down point to front trailer d-ring that would make you legal for going down the road.* Then take your two straps and throw them over the tracks the way you did to keep the machine from lifting while loading you can also leave those straps there as they will have no bearing on you going down the road for legality reasons. I agree with you straps under 10K no problem They have a chain binder ratchet thing which is not as long as a binder look into it you might like those A little pricey but pretty cool and easy to use Thanks for the response And I'm not a super Safety Sam but it's really hard to keep my opinion to myself when people post things to the world to see because others will copy you whether you're right or wrong. You can strap down your machine however you want but leave it off the video. Then only few will see it as you drive down the road so you will have less of an impact on dopey people doing dopey things (copying what they saw someone else do). So basically if you put it on video expect it to be criticized ... With that if you hide it from video but drive down the road like that... others like myself will take pictures of you and post you to the internet making fun of it. lol
@rollingops18 сағат бұрын
@MIGHTYX2010 hahaha all solid points. I like the idea of 2 straps on the tracks and then seprate chains in the corners. That's what Keegan and I talked about too. I think I'd like to just have all that in a couple small tool or ammo boxes, already pre cut and perfect for every time we load! We will get it right. Like I said, I thought we were in the right. But I can def see there being a difference legally between metal and rubber tracks.

Chainsaw instead of the saws all. Would Saved u 20 mins
@rollingopsКүн бұрын
@future46r yea that was actually one of our first thoughts as well, because I have a couple nice chain saws. I also was thinking about using one down the center, but i noticed a couple screws in a random pattern down the deck, and little bits of scrap metal that was frozen to the deck. Didn't want to find out the hard way... That Sawzall and diablo blade are an awesome combo though. Keegan probably spent less than 10 min cutting it away from the deck. We've really noticed a difference in blade qualities, the more of these we do.
