So true, they we never experienced them as a pet, that’s why, because cats are so loving and affectionate, even more so than a dog. They are better than dogs because they don’t smell or slobber. I can’t have a dog because they stink naturally and I have sensitive nose that can smell peoples breathe from 20 ft away lol.

I got my first cat when I was 8 yrs old and 49 years later I'm proud to be a crazy cat woman. I have 2 indoor cats and 3 stray cats that I feed. They're still at the very wary stage but they know when it's time to eat. O cannot imagine my world without cats.

I think some people genuinely hate cats _compared to dogs_ because dogs will do anything to please you. Cats will do anything to please themselves. Given the choice between someone you can control who will love you unconditionally and someone who will do whatever the fuck they want and will only love you if you deserve it, many people will choose the former.

Had cats on the farm growing up, but they were barn cats, and not very social. I didn't dislike them, they were just doing their own thing. Once I had a house cat, though, I could begin to see that they all have their own personalities, and unlike a dog, they are more picky about who they chose. I still like both cats and dogs, but cats are a better fit for my lifestyle.

Some (very small-minded) people hate cats because they worry their partner would choose their cat over them. But IMO, if you're worried about something as petty as that, it'd make perfect sense for your partner (and everyone) to choose virtually any cat over you. Cats are the best I have 12 right now and ever since I was a little girl on a farm have always taken care of them 70 something at one point and I have loved them all and have done whatever I can to get them healthy and even off the streets even on the farm as a child watching them die of disease it was heart breaking and I will forever be traumatized from it so I have always loved them is the moral of the story I guess. How could you not they all have their own personality just like a dog which I also love but I am truly a cat lady and always have been. I love a man that loves cat means you have a great heart❤❤❤❤

My mom also got cats to replace us after my sibling & I left for college. And I also now think they are the greatest! Don't have one but plotting to get one. To be fair, all the time I hated them I thought I was deathly allergic to them but I've since found out I had untreated asthma and autoimmune disorders so my histamine responses were just on hyperdrive.

My wife and I had a couple of the coolest cats ever. They lived to 18 and 20. We have a handful of friends who never cared for cats until they spent time around ours, and they all ended up adopting their own. People think they’re all the same. Tell me why this was my same exact experience 😂😂. I never had a cat growing up and only had dogs. I didn’t hate them I just never was around them. Back in 2015 I went and visited my Dad who all of a sudden had 3 pet cats. That was my first experience and I was like wow cats are fun to be around. Fast forward to 2024 my husband and I have 13 cats. 😂😂
