Would be neat for a Secret Relic to be the "Dungeon Master's Die", same premise as the Dungeon Die but instead of a ± 3 shift in stats, it would be a ± 30% (rounded to nearest whole number) shift. Way more risk-reward for high-stat builds

Sadly, given how long it took them to settle on the current Flipped Chip stuff, THAT much of a positive result for what was originally fairly balanced (being an even amount of distance either side of base) is something we'd never see

@@RoosterW That’s a lot more broken than it sounds. Say your orb is a 3/9. One third of its damage (the worst result) is -2/-6. But triple its damage (the best result) is +6/+18. Such a relic would be ludicrously overpowered.

Rare relics can appear in treasure chests at a reduced rate. They can even appear in the shop! (at an extremely reduced rate, something like 1%)

30:36 Seems the new orbelisk event removes all your stones and adds orbelisks that are the same level as those stones. Also the anvil seems to work on those new orbelisks.

yeah, all 4 of his lvl 1 Stones were replaced by lvl 1 Orbelisks, which got immediately upgraded by the anvil. Same thing with the single level 2 Stone, which was replaced by a lvl 2 Orbelisk that got upgraded into a lvl 3. The one thing that doesn't match is the life lost from the anvil: the item description says you lose 3 hp for every new orb, but Tyler actually lost 4 hp (20 in total for 5 new orbs). And I went back to check other new orbs and they all cost 4 hp. Is there anything increasing self damage or is it just a typo from the devs in the item description?

Likely a mistake in the code for the anvil, it probably has a part that screws up the recursion that should happen on multiple orb upgrades (it happened when he doubled his orbs though which is interesting)

It looks like with the orbelisk event all the replaced stones got upgraded immediately so we could've had another anvil death in one run. Also for the editors some of the cut out choices feel weird. I don't get why on some runouts you'll speed up and on others you jump ahead. In general jumping ahead feels weird. Like in act 3 when Tyler goes to a shop(which is useless because he has no money) and the video immediately skips to the next floor which happens to be a Haglin event

Fun fact: Orbsium level 2 is (by pure math) worse than Orbsium level 1 when you have the gift that keeps on giving. The reason is that Orbsium stats don’t change as you level it, just the number of times hit, going 2-3-4. However the gift that keeps on giving means each peg needs 3 activation to pop, so the total activations per peg for the Orbsium in such a scenario is 4-3-4, because 2 hits doesn’t destroy the peg, and by it’s nature Orbsium can over-hit pegs. Thus the theoretical dps of a level 1 Orbsium is equivalent to a level 3, and superior to a level 2 when you have the gift that keeps on giving.

Popping Corn is actually amazing with Orbsium because the relic's description says "Heal 1 every 12 pegs *Activated*", and since Orbsium activates pegs multiple times, it increases your healing. Same goes with Matryorbshka.

holy shit i just realized something really cool about the die relic (maybe tyler points this out later in the vid but i haven't seen it yet) so, the die rolls from +3/3 to -3/3, which looks like itll be neutral overall, right? (tyler already mentioned skipping in the vid, but lets ignore it for now) but it randomizes them INDIVIDUALLY it does two rolls, one for crit and one for non-crit, and you get to CHOOSE which to keep (assuming youre good at aiming your shot to hit/avoid the crit) and as a result, its a net positive in damage and then when you include skipping again, it compounds the effect and gives you ANOTHER choice, meaning you choose between FOUR rolls and get to decide which to take and it also creates another way skill plays into it, by rewarding you for hitting a crit or not hitting a crit (depending on which you want) and unlike the usual situations, you have to switch between trying to crit and not crit, which keeps things interesting tldr i fucking love this relic
