I noticed that before the coach called you into the office that you did the skill set selection and bunting was an option. You went with hand eye coordination instead. If you go to Practice Field, sometimes drag bunting will be on there as well. That's the only non equipment way to level up your bunting.

You have to have the "practice" in order to drag bunt. It's a skill point. Just because you're fast doesn't mean you can bunt. As for me, I've played the game for 7 years now and have always specialized in players who were fast and count bunt.
