Got kit for CB550, had some similar issues. Also the manifold wasn’t fitting right, with not enough space to put on the 10mm nut. Snapping throttle cables. But damn they could really breathe well once I got those issues resolved. Put the stockers back on and the lack of power was VERY apparent. Compared to the cost of some CR carbs I’d say it was worth it
@zsgarage20215 ай бұрын
Yeah, not an easy fit for sure. But, I agree, the throttle when opened up is so much better than the stock carbs.

Could you make update video on the carbs? Solder job also?!

The problem is most People dont know what they are doing and how to rejet a carb. Its possible for sure. I have a fzr 1000 with bigger CV carbs and uni podfilters. Rejetted to match the bigger air flow. The thing pulls like crazy better then ever before. You can make it work but it gonna take some time. And if you want full power 4 carbs are better then 2 on a four cilinder.
@zsgarage20214 ай бұрын
I can see where you're coming from. I have some plans on rejetting to larger jets to accommodate the pods. Thank you

Wow, I’m having the exact problem! He believes it’s how my cable is routed but I guarantee it’s in the right position!
@zsgarage20214 ай бұрын
Yeah, pretty frustrating. I understand that there will be some tinkering, but it was too much at this point.

I don't get it. Four 26mm carbs should flow more cfm than two 36mm. Is it because the air/fuel mixture from each carb is alternating between two cylinders that you can get away with less overall potential cfm?
@zsgarage20212 ай бұрын
That’s what I’m thinking too. I’m curious and may need to do some more research!
@cookieuk127814 күн бұрын
Only one of cylinder 3 and 4, for example, is sucking in air at a time, so doing so from larger diam carb.

How's it going with the new carbs? I can't decide if I'm gonna try get my stock-carbs on my Honda CB 650 1981 work better or Re-Jet or buy Murray's carbs. :-)

@@JayMeds the Murray carbs are just not working. They are constantly sticking when I throttle. I ordered different jets for the OEM carbs.

I had the same thing happen to my left carb last year, almost caused me to crash while going into a turn. Cables routed per his instructions as well. He ended up sending me another slide spring to install to help it return to closed.

I got mine in a few days ago. And if im easy on the throttle they accelerate but even just a hair too much they want to die. Its honestly not safe trying to figure out whats up at the moment. Any ideas?
@zsgarage20215 ай бұрын
Its mixture is off. Call Murray and he can walk you through getting the carbs dialed. He's pretty responsive guy, but old school and can come across as rough around the edges. Overall, good guy.

I had to move my needle clip position up a groove when I had mine. It did the same thing when I first installed them.

The 2 carbs wasn’t the issue, it was sticking from the throttle cable. We’ll see thiugh
