I'm glad that one of the most experienced players feels the same way about this "trick" you said it right, almost all people I've seen it "work" for catch it on a critical catch. Lucky them. 🤣 I tried doing this 3 times before I made the decision not to waste more resources.

The wierd thing is, ive used this trick twice and it didnt work for the bird. But I got a ton of critical catches after the bird fled.

Same. I have failed eight birds and have successfully caught a Moltres. The Moltres was a crit catch using this method, but for three of them it did not work. My guess is that it certainly increases the odds, but is by no means a sure thing.

I tried this metod 4 times already and haven’t caught any galarian bird yet. Starting to doubt if this trick even works, but I’m desperate to catch one of these birds so I’m grabbing every hope possible 😹

This trick doesn't work or not work. It just increases the odds. You could do this 1 million times and still fail but it will be odds increased

My 4th encounter with galereon moltres I caught it, I dropped 5 blue 5 black n caught it with not even a nice curve, encountered the other birds like twice each , it all comes down to they will either give it to you or they won’t , no matter how good you are

i uploaded a video the other day of the zapdos. golden berry, ultra ball, excellent throw at the smallest circle, one shake and it jumped out and ran. i don't really bother with the daily incense anymore, it's not very fun when you have no chance to catch them with skill

He didn't myth bust. Siph road has imperial data showing every 5 balls missed the percentage goes up by half so at 10 balls its one full percentage and it stops at 20 balls so a max 2% increase if you miss 20 balls.

It's a .5% increase every 5 balls misses for a max of 2% at 20 balls missed. There is no point in dropping more then 20 balls. Also the ball type doesn't matter so drop normal or great balls. I've encountered 4 and got all 4. I've also been luck and got low level ones which have higher catch rate.

I got G. Zapdos, the thing is, I didnt really even think about anything. I just threw the ball after he did his first move and I hit nice only. He just decided we will stay in. Its pure luck.

I’ve caught g articuno without ball trick and caught g moltress with ball trick , but tried ball trick on other g birds and didn’t work , I say it’s 50/50 chance , trust me you’ll get one , just keep grinding out daily incense , and also use it different times of night/day

I've seen 4 Moltres and 1 articuno, I use the incence daily. Got super lucky because I was able to catch one Moltres, it has bad IVs but I dont really care

I'm Level 44 (been actively playing Pokemon Go since 2016) and I have yet to catch one of these Galarian Birds, even though I've encountered all three at least once. The Galarian Birds are basically Pokemon Go's equivalent of Roaming Legendaries in the main series games.

As a free to play player, if I have 100 poke balls , I would not wish to waste 10 let alone 100. Because I get 80 to 100 poke balls from gifts, 30 from daily incense and 10 to 20 from 2 poke gyms. So it won't be a good decision.

I tried the trick once on a Galarian Moltres and wasted 50 balls. It still ran away. The very next Galarian Moltres; I golden razz, ultra ball, terrible throw and it caught. I say try your best, but have low expectations. Don’t let it eat at you.

The 2 birds I have managed to catch were both caught while doing the trick. I caught 0 of the 9 before I learned about it, and the 2 of the 8 afterwards. I only threw out around 15 balls each time because I assumed that you got just the 1 bonus and it wouldn't necessarily increase with the more you threw away. But it only increases the small chance to catch, not guarantee anything. So it might well be that I just got really lucky on those 2, and that throwing away the balls is the equivalent of holding down and b, but for the moment, I'm a bit of a believer.

it doesnt work no matter what on the galarian birds, the flee rate is 99% no matter how many balls you just waste, 100, or 1000, doesnt change the flee/catch rate.

This is all based on luck, since players will have to pray for a critical catch. So the trick basically is rollin for that most likely, yeah you have to be really lucky to catch them.
