I Used a Bone Mace to Build an Account with Runescape's New Best Training Method!

Runescape has received countless bosses that are killed for money, but recently jagex has released something difference. This week Scurrius the low level rat boss was released, but you mainly kill this rat for experience.
I thought it would be interesting to see how effective it is to kill this boss on a very low level account. What is the new player experience like? How does the experience compare to existing methods and can we make some money along the way.
So were going to hop onto a low level account and start completely from scratch. Can we build a new account effectively with Scurrius?

Yep, I have a feeling my friends would have kept playing if they’d been able to practice mechanics like this. RuneScape’s boss combat mechanics aren’t exactly friendly to new players lol - this boss remedies that.

Step 1 pick up ground items from other players. To speed up this process I recommend going to Raids 3 and leeching off their purple drops. Then with your new 3bil gp go ahead and buy all BIS items. Now you're ready to battle scurrius.

I've done all the raids and inferno etc, this boss is still one of the best pieces of content imo. My wife who is new to the game has had a go at it and is loving it and I cant wait to show her more bosses now shes getting prayers down

Love the fact that the boss is built around the idea of exp gain. I'll be fighting him and need to go up to get more prayer pots and then he'll drop one, or he'll drop some minor food if need be.

Nah has nothing to do with it lol. I have very bad ping and been doing scurrius al low level with very cheap gear and i've got pet at 300kc and an extreme amount of spines. Also got agility pet at 90k xp ​@@Slurpified

Mid lvl accounts can expect 80k-150K+ exp/ hour. Depending on gear and lvl. I've enjoyed using magic to kill the boss due to extremely fast magic exp. If you prayer flic all you need to bring is a few food and three prayer pots. Solo in a public lobby and you will get less gp per hour but more exp. While in a public lobby solo scurry has 1500hp. More stats can be found on wiki. Like %42.5 increase in exp. Private is revered with less exp and more gp. While in private the boss has 500 hp. 150k exp an hour + about 350-400k gp an hour makes this boss great for training to 99.

So from the fact that you max hit the small rats with the bone weaponry, the best call probably if you are lower level in a mass world that kills really fast would be to attack the rats in priority when they come out.

My group iron was at a perfect level when the boss was released, around 50 combats. It was our groups first good way to get decent high alchs, and now 100 kc later I'm close to 70 melee stats

I am just getting back into osrs after a long hiatus... I wish this boss was f2p. Having to farm for keys to do any bosses blows, and its only single combat. Bossing with friends would make it so much more fun.

I think it's called "Mace" instead of flail because of lore reasons related to Vyres, you have to craft the ivandis flail because it's unusual and unpredictable movements as well as the material it's made from allow it to be more effective against vyres.

I’ve been wanting them to add special drops from slayer monsters that attach to a slayer ring for ever, that can be used for an extra damage bonus. Like a Kurask Bone, Gargoyle Toe, Hydra Spine, Nechyrael Heart. Make them like 1/10,000 drops, but when you attack them to a slayer ring, you always have a 15% increased damage/accuracy while wearing the ring. It would make so many more creatures viable for training, because you got lucky with one of their special drops.

You can use amethyst arrows with the bone shortbow even though yew shortbow is limited to rune arrows.

You should honestly be raising your attack with whatever strongest prayer you have available, especially when you're less than 43 and can't use overheads. its free accuracy and every little bit helps at low levels and beats the prayer going to waste

Ultimate Flipping Challenge: You can ONLY flip items you pick up on the floor of the GE. For example, if you pick up some raw chicken, you then "unlocked" the raw chicken flips. Sounds weird but it's quiet fun! :)

since the weapon adds a flat 10 damage increase to your max hit, would this be the new meta training for attack pures with 1 strength? get 50 attack from usual methods then spam scurrius with the mace? if they usually max a 2-3 they could be hitting 12-13 instead

I think playing on a low level vs the “new player” experience are two very different things. You have years of osrs content. Where as someone who’s new to bossing may have a hard time even at the Rat King.

the blue ghosts you see are thralls. They're summoned npc from the arceuus spellbook that deal a bit of extra dps for a minute. He is killing Scurrius on a mass world and has the runelite entity hider plugin on so those are definitely other people's thralls, as they are a reward from the A Kingdom Divided quest. (btw the ghosts are magers, there's also green skeleton rangers, and red zombie meleers, but they are less commonly used)

I had the same idea and made a new acount to test the boss, i think there is a mayor design flaw whit no rat weapon it's very hard to get the first kills solos, and when the hipe dies very few people will be killing in in group, so it defets the point of a "tutorial" boss if the dificulty is so front loaded, they should really consider leting people get the first spine whit a quest or something similar.

I think it's pretty doable as long as you're a main. At worst you can loot. But I tried on an iron without pots and at 65 combat literally cannot out dps the heal faze And the rats chip damage forces you to keep pray melee up while healing = no p pot you die. It's a walk in the park around 75 combat established gear and equipment but honestly impossible on a 60 combat iron unless you have d scim and p pots

The question on how to tackle this whit a low level ironman is interesting, i think your only hope are probably gruby key's.
