You know, today I was reading comments of women on Facebook who said they went on first dates without putting efforts in their appearance, grumpy clothes and generally an ugly disposition. Their reason; they wanted to test the men and see if he would be worth keeping. Most of them claimed it worked because the men loved them for who they truly are and not for their beauty. I was thoroughly repulsed. Beauty was considered something that is not part of them, something that is not their true self. And women who put in hours in their appearance just to go on dates were seen as shallow, doing too much and made to believe they would attract the wrong men! But no one can tell me otherwise, beauty is my identity. Beauty is my true self. Beautiful is who I am. A man who wants to know me deeply is going to see beauty. It is me and I embrace it. Whether I am sitting at home, going on a date or going down the street to the grocery store, I will always look beautiful and put together.
