Thanks. Like Christmas tree in the bathroom analogy. Nice video.

😆😆 I couldn't come up with better analogy. Thank you!

I agree with the quote about restriction. Zoom lenses make me lazy. I stand still, zoom in or out, and my photos suffer for it. When I use a prime lens I'm a lot more creative and think about the shot more. If I need a zoom I have to force myself to choose what focal length I want and then compose / zoom with my feet.

Haha, love your analogy "Jamming a Christmas tree in your bathroom". Thanks for this video featuring an unorthdox combo. Maybe I'll go out this weekend with my Olympus 100-400 5.0/6.3 on my Lumix GX8 :)

I don't know why, but the more telephoto the lens, the more I tend to like it. Wide angle for me always feels harder to do composition wise. And even good wide angle shots, a good telephoto shot just looks to me naturally like a better picture, or something more pleasing or interesting to look at. 42.5mm+ almost always looks better to me. This little combo you got would be very fun, though the 45-200mm lens is my favorite telephoto zoom from Lumix. I traded that 100-300mm zoom for it as a matter a fact. I think the combo you got there would be fun to pack around but yes starting at 100mm for a shot does make you have to look ahead a bit more. I don't tend to get bored with photography because it is just a hobby. If I don't want to take pictures at the time I don't. If I do, I do. That is the perk of those smaller camera bodies like the GX850 or even the GX85 (Which you Gary have totally sold me on!). They are small enough to tag along with a MFT lens of your choice which are mostly light and small. MFT is the best camera system out there, it has the right balance of it all. A phone is never going to beat an interchangeable lens system on an actual camera body. Thanks for your videos Gary, they are always fun to check out. Maybe another challenge you could do is shoot in just JPG with those camera bodies you are using. See what you can produce with only the camera systems allowance of setting adjustments. Shooting in just JPG for me I have found also adds to the fun a little bit since I don't have to do so much post editing on every time I load my pictures onto the computer. I get to enjoy, see, and appreciate the capability of just the camera itself, which is pretty dang good if not sometimes better than what I would have done in Lightroom!

Thank you for sharing. I was quite the opposite, I was more of a wide angle guy and was never really able to get keeper shots using telephoto lens. Thanks for the JPEG-only suggestion, it would be really challenging for me as I am a bit afraid to shoot JPEG but I'll try to make it happen 😆

I'm mostly using Sony full frame. But instead of buying a monster telezoom lens for this system, I got a small Olympus Pen Body and the Olympus 75-300 mm lens. Way cheaper, way less weight to carry.

I used to get odd looks with e-pm2 and 20mm f1.7 on a sling strap. Go figure. Sold that body well before I got the 150-400, so I cant put that pimple on big white.

I just buy that lens two days ago used and in very good condition for a realy good price. I was totaly surprised how good the results are. It fits perfect to my gx85 and i think it will be my favourite setup for the next months... 👍😁✨

Fun? _Fun?!_ No fun allowed in photography! You should be using that precious time to pixel peep, and grumble about how much better other camera brands are doing!

I envy you! You still have to discover a GREAT camera - G9. Take it, and you'll experience boost in everything - shooting experience, Image Quality, comfort. 100-300 is a compact great lens when used with a proper camera :) And it gives great results!

Thanks for the suggestion, I have tried a G9 a few times, my friend has it and I took it a few times for some "test drives". Undoubtedly it is a very nice body, but it overlaps too much with my G85 in terms of function.

I have used the 100-300 on a GF3 with as much fun, humor, and odd looks from ppl. 😂
