Wonderful video as always. Love the aurora shot. I see folks getting worked up about the camera and I just don’t get it. You and Thomas are working professional landscape photographers. You are pretty much who a camera like that was made for. And over the years you have been using mostly Sony gear that is much more in the average person’s range and done incredible work with that. In fact, only a week or so back you had a video with a micro 4/3 camera and the results were amazing. If anything, you have proven to us more than anyone else that it’s not the gear, it’s how you use it. Shoot with whatever!

These guys work their butts off to bring us great content and entertainment, which costs us nothing. I certainly have no intention of buying a HB and no amount of promotion will make me change my mind. I also didn’t fancy the Nikon Z8, Sony A2, Fuji 100s etc etc. I also watch mainstream tv with all their branded sponsorship and don’t buy any of that either. Very funny! 😂 The X2D, although undoubtedly a brilliant camera is over priced in my opinion and Hasselblad are desperately trying to promote it by greasing the palms of KZbinrs… fair enough I say! I’m more than happy with my gear and as we know it’s not about the gear. But if it’s what you do for a living you might as well use the “best” tool you can get your hands on. What happened to Amanda’s X2D 😂 Gavin’s videos are always going to be worth a watch whatever camera he’s using… just as long as Amanda still features 😊 Onward to that 100k subscribers Gavin!

As far as I can make out just doing a conversion from the “pre-order” US price that version of the X2D would be about NZ$38,000 (not sure if the US price includes tax) and to put that in perspective its about the same as a new Toyota Corolla Hybrid Hatch including our 15% GST !! It will be interesting to see if any make it to our shores and if they can get here any faster than the horrendous wait times on some cars !!😀 Man love those autumn colours.

My 2p worth on this “Expensive Gear Crisis” (Rob is very incensed!)… I’d like the Hasselblad for my taste in colour science (and IBIS) but think it looks ugly & cheap so prefer the V Fit version/Back BUT on KZbin anyone who thinks they can see a difference excepting his PP is fooling themselves. Even for prints/calendars it’s irrelevant - one of the best images on Heaton’s Calendar was taken on a Canon 5Dii. And when he used that people loved his work! That camera and the 5Di also have beautiful colour (well regarded by many like Martin Castein still using it as a Pro) which moved me to them from Sony (A7R ii and iii), Fuji (XT2 and 5 tried (EVF on the 5 did my eyes in)) and Leica (M8, CL and TL2) and OM5 and Pen F (for macro work I can’t think of anything better than the OM1 system and it’s Focus Stacking). I prefer the Canons to any. Even for large prints Topaz DeNoise AI and Gigapixel AI will make massive showable/sellable prints on even 4/3.
