I did a braid out with no product once (not intentionally) and it turned out really well. I have type 4 and I was shocked. I was afraid it wasn’t going to look good but it was too hot to wear a hat so it had to look good. You’re right deep conditioning is the key for it to look good. I deep conditioned as well.

I tried this and honestly my hair looks better without products…and it’s easier to wash and detangle when wash day comes. I love this look on you and those curls are poppin plus I love the way you breaded it a lil bit at the scalp so the curls have more volume and definition. This right here made me leave the products alone. Mines turned out the same only difference I didn’t braid it at the root but next time I will. ❤🎉 slayed

This is a throwback for me! Reminds me of being a little girl. As long as you have really hydrated hair before you start, I think this should work for (almost) anyone! The issue is... How long until your hair is crispy dry like straw and/or loses alllllll definition?! 🤣🤣 This used to be a 2-ish day style for me, then time to start again before you start a brush fire or get a bunch of tangles. The oil from the takedown may help keep the moisture in your strands though, especially if you were to add water and retwist at night. It is just a lot of upkeep if you have normal to high porosity hair that looses moisture quickly. They would definitely need oil/butter/grease for sealing.

Great video I refreshed my curls with steam from my shower cap and added some wet line clear gel to the ends of my curls (shirt curly hair) to give my curls definition all over again.

Honestly at this point I’m cutting it down to a styling cream, spray bottle, a mist 😂 incase I need a refresh which I probs won’t need often. I see you mainly use either a styling product or a leave in, not both. Styler maybe a edge gel which I’m a boy so I wouldn’t use anyway and that’s it. Soemtiems I see a gel. This goes to show you ( we with textured curly hair as a whole ) honestly don’t need much to keep your hair moisturized and taking care of often. Deep conditioners are defiantly a staple tho. Normal just ain’t enough. And once a week is cool. But yeah this is very enlightening and reliving and im excited to have a more simple minimalist routine and stop tripping as much on the latest ingrident or having all these things in a ingrident list. Have a few nourishing ingridents and even that will help your hairs length and health etc. and im done falling for the Cantu hate train either and keep breaking up with it and coming back lol jumping between products and formulations 🤣🤣🤣🤣
